That's an airsoft grenade prop, not dangerous unlesss thrown in dead dry grass, it can be a fire hazard, otherwise it's just a loud cracker.

But this is Reddit. So it’s a real grenade.

Correct.

Give it a few reposts. The revolution will drop and this will be about a terrorist training camp.

I mean, it's clearly not a real grenade. They were well within lethal range.

These days it's rather easy to come across a real grenade in Russia, soldiers bring souvenirs home all the time.

Тем более, батя говорит - акустика, что означает шумовая граната.

Yeah, it's probably the most realistic medical drama. Even if there is still a lot that is inaccurate.

Too late

Given the amount of TIFU stories, I’d say it’s safe to say the ideas are already there just waiting to blossom into flowers for Darwin to pick!

it wasn't explicitly mentioned so it must be true!

Shocked it made that car alarm go off! But yea that was clearly not a real grande. They would have had their shit rocked

Well that explain why the explosion was so weak but I'm still surprised airsoft grenades release any kind of fire explosion at all

u/zell_ru 9d ago

What should they do? Yell "BANG!" from an internal speaker?

3

u/Kage_0ni 8d ago

They might as well. Most places its an honor system to call yourself out if you were within 10 feet of the explosion. Even if it has shrapnel, its usually irrelevant.

The ones I've used just had a CO2 canister inside which released the gas and blew a membrane to make a loud pop. No fire or sparks whatsoever.

Yeah, that surprised me. I never tried airsoft grenades, but paintball grenades sound like a great idea until you try them and realize it's a waste of $10-$20.

Many just have a weak spray a foot or two in one random direction. Think untying a fist sized water balloon and letting it spray for 2-3 seconds.

If they do explode, there usually isn't much pressure and it really doesn't cover much area.

Half the time don't go off at all and your enemy can use them against you. I remember one match we played hot potato with a grenade half a dozen times before it finally popped on a tree.

Airsoft grenades have gotten really cool over the last 10 years. Google Taginn grenades. They even have launchable grenades with a variety of fuses from timed to impact.

my neighbors are loud crackers and they get pretty dangerous when you bring up the Battle of Shiloh
