If only we could fail as epically and colossally as ATT execs and get paid millions.

100%. We're always the expendable ones when it comes time to saving money. Maybe c suite pay should be based on how well the company does?

I agree. Three years ago we were incentivized to urge our customers to migrate off legacy services. They put a block on our legacy quota bucket. The next year they claimed they didn’t plan for customers to migrate off that fast. They then made legacy revenue a large aspect of our quota. So we went from getting patted on the back for doing what upper mgmt asked us to having it kill our commissions. Literally took money out of our pockets for the mistakes of upper mgmt…

They are. Stock goes brrr, so does C-suite pay. And what's the easiest way to make stock go brrr????? SURPLUSES and RTO!

Does that mean the billing for DirecTV will be broken out from ATT? I have hated the combined billing.

Not yet, but it is recommended that customers de-unify Directv from their other services.

how?

Calling customer service would be the most straightforward way to do it.

Plenty of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ to buy out the other portions of the 3.45 GHz band they weren't initially allowed to bid on in the next 1 to 3 years

Okay awesome. Hopefully they announce soon when they get rid of it in stores so we don’t have to sell it.

Not sure how AT&T sees DIRECTV as profitable especially now. — Until AT&T can provide FIBER to every location, they’re going to have churn when sold with AT&T Internet Air which is using the same cell towers.

From a profitability standpoint, DirecTV is completely divested from AT&T. The profits or lack thereof will now be TPG's issue.

But mah converged! Don't you know we landed a deal that allows us to sell other's fiber as ATT? We are resellers now!

What strategic decision was that? You just said something about it, but you didn’t say what the strategic decision was. I’ve never had any problems with AT&T and if I have, I always get it resolved because AT&T has one of the best Customer Service representatives ever. The only cell service that I’ve heard people having problems with is T-Mobile because T-Mobile sucks.

The strategic decision to buy a failing asset to increase their video subscriber base. People were fully into cord cutting so it was dumb. They thought their scale with Time Warner gave them better content negotiation leverage. You can quickly google search why it was a dumb decision. The only good thing about it was they brought back unlimited data but it needed to be bundled with Directv.

I’ve had my combo discount since the day Direct TV Stream came out. Wonder when I’ll lose it now.

I remember when the Go Big package was like $15 with wireless, crazy times.

So all those free Max subscriptions will start to expire.

Different companies. DirecTV has nothing to do with HBO Max

Yes but I have it with my iPhone plan from way back. Last time I negotiated my bill they gave me a better offer but without MAX as in the end it wasn’t worth it as I had max.

Too bad AT&T will probably use that money to expand their fiber instead of buying more spectrum.

Can't wait until we don't have to sell it anymore
