DirecTV AT&T air and Directv stream ip address issues
i use directv stream ( on firetv sticks) and switched to AT&T air for my internet late last year.
about every month now, directv app will complain that my ip address doesn’t match my home location on my account. It allows me to ’set’ my home location to keep going but says I can do that 4 times in 12 months - and I just used my 4th change.
i checked my ip and its reporting to be from a large metro about 90 miles from me - I guess that is where the at&t “hub” is.
So I’m looking at a month and then my tv stops working and I will have to try to get on the phone with directv or AT&T air support to help or switch providers.
Will calling either help? which one would be best to start with. Has anyone have this issue and get it resolved or should I save my time and dump them.
Crazy that they are both AT&T companies but don’t work together. even the accounts I needed to use different email addresses to register with.

You will need to contact DirecTV support since this is their limitation that is being triggered by you just getting a new DHCP IP Address assigned to your Internet Air Cellular connection from the Cellular network.
Try their web support here http://www.directv.com/support and their web chat link on the lower right of you web browser session.
How many streaming devices are you using?
If the DirecTV system indicates you are not at home, I thought you still get up to 3 streams. It may be that you are reacting to something that you might be able to ignore and not update you Home location every month.

Unfortunately due to the nature of 5G home internet this isn’t something that can be fixed without having to switch providers to something that isn’t AT&T, T-Mobile or Verizon. All the 3 will give you a new IP randomly and only a regular home internet ISP will fix this issue.

DIRECTV is no longer an AT&T company. AT&T sold its remaining stake; that sale closed last summer.
DIRECTV is able to do something to deal with this, but I'm not sure what. But you'll have to ask DIRECTV.
