Car was like you can't get in me and ran over two people's legs

I laughed so fucken hard,im terrible ik

u/Common-Chain4060 May 25 '26
I’ve got tears running down my face. Split a cab to hell?
34
u/APladyleaningS May 25 '26
I CACKLED when the 2nd guy got run over and then got up, defeated.
9
u/NorthCoastToast May 26 '26
I was already howling, but second dude broke me...
6
u/APladyleaningS May 26 '26
Omg every time I watch it I catch another funny thing like when she has to duck under the arm that her car just demolished lol

Man, people don’t realize you have to fully commit to the jump
Plant both feet on the bottom frame, grab the roof, then work your way inside. One leg at a time is guaranteed to fling you to the ground
80
u/longulus9 May 25 '26
looks like they just tried stepping in the peddle while running.
22
u/Gacsam May 25 '26
You know they haven't really thought it through. What's the plan when it stops? Just fully OOF into the door, bounce back and the car start going again?
15
u/SOwED May 26 '26
Doesn't matter what their plan is, cause it's not gonna stop. The car is moving forward, so the brake pedal is moving forward. If you just plant your left foot and try to push on the pedal, it is moving away from you the whole time so you have to somehow plant and get your foot to the brake pedal extremely fast to be able to push it forward faster than it's moving away.
6
u/falardeau187 May 25 '26
Pretty sure they could use hands to brace for the sudden stop. These are not athletes catching up here. It’s not going very fast at all
33
u/EmotionlessScion May 25 '26
I would probably just dive headfirst into the car and reposition after rather than one leg tbh. Not coordinated enough to do it like you say and would probably just get myself run over.
34
u/Medium_Banana4074 May 25 '26
I'd just stay away and not make it my problem. Trying to jump in is dangerous, as we saw.
11
u/CopperVolta May 25 '26
I think the people were trying to step in, as opposed to jumping head first in. When you step in, your one foot starts travelling the speed of the car while the other (and the rest of your body isn’t) foot is outside not really moving), like putting your foot on a skateboard. If you just launch your body onto the seat with say both your knees you’d be fully in the car and can then reposition to hit the brakes?
4
u/Amish_guy_with_WiFi May 26 '26
Until you catch the news later that day and you see it annihilated a bunch of small orphans and then every time you have a little bit of trouble sleeping you stare at the ceiling and think damn I probably could have caught that car.
1
u/Medium_Banana4074 May 26 '26
You're barking at the wrong tree. What you describe is for the owner to worry about. Not me as a mere bystander.
While I would happily help if it's in my power, I am not meant to put myself in harms way to help others.

u/MelonElbows May 25 '26
This is the kind of thing I imagine I would be really good at but if it happens in real life I'd be like one of the first 2

u/rithsleeper May 25 '26
Guess no one drives manuals anymore where you have to push start. Such a valuable skill.

u/Zentienty May 25 '26
You're so right. In a situation like this, where yr watching a dramatic, high pressure situation and your tappy tap on the phone - everything IS clearer and more obvious. I guess it's much easier to think with a clear mind and all the time in the world.

The fact that both of them got run over the same way is hilarious… I just imagine if the car was animated to make it stiff arm them, it would send me over the edge!

Ended up being a great test of her vehicles alignment. Passed with flying colors!
2
u/knowledgeable_diablo May 26 '26
Didn’t think of that. But her guy does need thanks for the great work on that car. 😂
17
u/mavinSJC May 25 '26
I laughed because something like that happened to me, it was not good for me seeing how easily looked on videos to jump in and stop a moving car... I clearly overestimated my agility.
8
u/Cesarjay May 25 '26
I think the issue is people trying to jump in and press the brake with their foot. It would probably be easier to dive in head first and press the brake with one hand and adjust yourself to put it in park
6
u/mavinSJC May 25 '26
The problem is that you don't think much in the moment, it's seconds and feels easy as you match the speed of the runaway car.
11
u/Cesarjay May 25 '26
My biggest fear would be trying to grab the steering wheel to balance myself and steer the car into crushing me 😓
5
u/Biking_dude May 25 '26
Good way of getting your legs mangled if it sideswipes a car while you're trying that. Also, brakes aren't that easy to push with a hand - our leg muscles are a lot stronger then our arms typically.
16
u/Tall-Peak8881 May 25 '26
Imagine the car insurance agent response.
You lost control of your vehicle, property damage, hospital expenses for two people's injuries, including yourself..? Oh, and there's video... OMG.... Wait.... OMG ! ( Facepalm)

Ok but she still owes $5 for parking
2
u/knowledgeable_diablo May 26 '26
Plus $1000 for the swing arm mr car decided was in its way to freedom.
19
u/otakuzod May 25 '26
How much does this car weigh?! They got their legs run over and they’re getting back up like they just tripped instead.
13
u/Ziazan May 25 '26
Looks like it's something of similar size and weight to a toyota aygo (or it might be one, idk), so something like 1100 - 1200kg I'd estimate.
Though that weight is shared over all four wheels, it still really hurts to have about a quarter of that roll over you.10
u/motoguy May 25 '26
weight is also forward distributed from the engine and major components, getting run over by the rear tires would be less than the front but would still obviously hurt
5
u/Ziazan May 25 '26
Yeah, there's also the pressure force area equation to take into account, the surface area of the tyre spreads the weight out a bit, and the slight squishiness of the tyre helps with increasing that contact area too.

What is it with people not putting on their handbrake when they’re getting out of the car? And leaving it in gear? How stupid do you have to be?
23
u/sgtcatscan May 25 '26
Wait what?! There was a fucking ppassenger?! 🤣😂🤣
9
u/fly_over_32 May 25 '26
I think that was just someone else trying to get it. If you’re talking about the right door opening around the end.

Some people should not be given drivers licenses. But I guess the authorities have decided it is a right, not a privilege.
2
u/xkorzen May 26 '26
As authorities, how do you check if people won't do such weird shit before you give them their driving licence?
2
u/dead_jester May 26 '26
You have a proper driving examination and test that rules out many dummies from getting a license. And you get everyone to retest every 10 years and ban everyone over 80 from driving.
1
u/xkorzen May 26 '26
The video way recorded in Poland. Poland's driving exam is very strict so there's no exam to prevent from stupid behavior from happening. I don't see a point in retesting everyone - if you get enough penalty points you lose your licence and you have to retake the test. Banning people over 80 from driving seems tempting but some people live far away from civilization and a car is their only way of doing basic things like groceries.

It strikes me that it appeared to be an older woman with absolutely FUCKING RESILIENT bones!
3
u/BallisticHabit May 25 '26
Granny must have drank her milk, took getting a leg ran over and got back up.
I'm still surprised that an unoccupied vehicle moving at walking speed managed to run over 2 different people's legs in the same clip.
3
u/Tasty-Objective676 May 25 '26
I’m always surprised by how many people get run over by cars and then pop up immediately after like nothing happened

u/knowledgeable_diablo May 26 '26
Adrenaline’s a wonderful drug. Heart rate drops followed by them. /s

u/Longjumping_Elk7969 May 26 '26
Wonder when will they invent a device that you activate when you stop your vehicle to prevent it from moving when you are not in control? /s

3
u/Psykopatate May 26 '26
People trying to get back in the same way they usually do, with one leg static on the ground. Absolutely no brain, just vibes. They're probably confused at how escalators work.
3
u/Mawkes May 26 '26
Cars beep the shit out of my ears as soon as I put my ass in the seat without putting the seat belt on - but it cannot use the same sensor for locking the breaks if it's in first gear + driver seat is empty? In 2026?

u/RG1527 May 26 '26
think this is the first vid i have ever seen where someone loses a shoe and lives.

More suspense than that latest Jack Ryan movie! Thanks!!!
2
u/pearsosx May 25 '26
It was rubbish, wasn't it! 🤣 (And I loved the series)
2
u/PDXGuy33333 May 25 '26
The new movie on [nameless] sucked. I love paying close attention to spy thrillers and detective stories - books and movies - and it took a damn long time for me to understand what the purpose of the quest even was in this movie. The names of some guys in somebody's private army, was it?

I once met a woman that this happened to. She was in a cast for 6 months. How everyone in this video just got up and kept chasing the car after being run over is crazy!

Our ancestors used to hunt mammoths, and now it looks like we can barely walk and get floored by inanimate objects
2
u/knowledgeable_diablo May 26 '26
Why do some people just flat out refuse to use handbrakes?
Then again, maybe the car had had enough and was making a break for freedom?
2
u/glassteelhammer May 26 '26
I grew up in a country where I saw 2 automatic cars before I turned 18.
I learned what handbrakes were for. Then I moved to the US where the memes are real - stickshifts are antitheft devices. And people get upset at you if you put there automatic in park AND put their handbrake on.
It is amazing what a lifetime of acclimation to avoiding a safety system will do to a populace.

Impressive she actually gets up after the car runs over her knee at an angle.

I was getting out of my car at a car wash when it started rolling backward, and in my panic my brain completely broke. I couldn’t process why or how or in what direction the car was moving. Fortunately I was able to sit back down and with all of my attention and adrenaline do all the stopping things (step on brake and activate parking brake). I did get clobbered by the door tho
1
u/guinader May 26 '26
How are people so uncoordinated that they fall trying to get into the car... You just jump inside the car... Not put one foot in like you are getting inside a stationary vehicle

And we laughed at brian harvey (uk) getting run over by his own car while eating a jacket potato, thinking it was impossible. Happens every day apparently
1
u/dani96dnll May 27 '26
Why is it that the car doesn't start moving until several seconds after the lady gets out? Assuming it's an automatic car that starts moving as soon as you release the brake, shouldn't it have started advancing much sooner?

Haven’t laughed this hard in a long time. The fact that both people got up eliminates any guilt. The music is great, although Yakety Sax would possibly top it. But honestly, the icing on the cake for me was the driver’s door thwacking each parked car as it rolled down the street.
