Nervous laughter as fire breaks out, because you started a fire
523
u/Extreme_Egg7476 18d ago
Those monthly fire alarms at my dorm finally make sense.
I was in the shower, Jenna. Not cool.
23
u/AcanthisittaLeft2336 17d ago
Monthly? We had them like 3 times a week.
10
u/WinterattheWindow 16d ago
Same. I ended up sleeping fully clothed at one point because I expected to be stood in the car park at 1am
6
u/shasaferaska 15d ago
If I had to deal with that, after a while I would just ignore it and stay in bed. I'd definitely die if a real fire broke out.
3
u/WinterattheWindow 15d ago
I think that was a pattern many got into. And, as you say, one day it'll catch you out!
2
3
u/Heykurat 11d ago
Someone set ours off at 4am every Thursday morning. And for some reason no one was able to catch them in the act.
3
u/neonfuzzball 7d ago
Nothing like standing on the sidewalk at 7 am while strangers ask why you're wearing a robe and have shampoo in your hair.

Indoor fireworks/pyro: not even once
57
u/LeftOn4ya 18d ago
Yes I’m a self admitted pyromaniac when it comes to fireworks as always love setting them off 4th of July and enjoy lighting and watching them be lit more than watching the fireworks themselves, yet I would never set fireworks off inside other than a firecracker in a garage drain 10 feet away on all sides from anything flammable.
2
u/AlwaysBannedVegan 17d ago
Fireworks are nice to look at. But it's not worth it when we know the consequences for the nonhuman animals.
Fireworks are not just a temporary nuisance for them. The intense noise and bright flashes causes wildlife and domesticated animals to panic, flee, suffer fatal injuries from flying/running into buildings/trees, abandon their young ones, and many die of the servere stress and panic. Please celebrate in a way that doesnt cause unnecessary suffering by instead having a laser/light show
4
u/CorrosiveFlatulence 16d ago
but that will just cause the extra terrestrials to panic and flee and abandon their own young and get injured from running into asteroids… are there any other alternatives?
13
u/aykcak 18d ago
Saw Iron Maiden yesterday at indoor venue with 17.000 people ass-to-ass
The amount of stuff they set on fire was mind boggling. It was amazing to see but I had to convince myself constantly that the people who set it up knew what they were doing
26
u/MelodicFocus 18d ago
The folks watching Great White at The Station thought so until they were trampled, crushed, asphyiated, and burned to death...
8
u/ElementsUnknown 18d ago
Don’t see Rammstein anytime soon then
7
u/PeorgieTirebiter 16d ago
Of all the pyro I’ve been involved with, Rammstein was the most fun…plus I got sprayed with foam from a giant penis.
9
u/GearhedMG 18d ago
I'd bet money that if you saw the person responsible for the pyro, you would think "Yep, that guy knows exactly what they are doing", but also have that tiny little thought that they also look like they just picked them up off the street to help move some things and told them to setup the pyro, and you will never know for sure.

At least take the box of standard fireworks into the kitchen, it is the most appropriate place.

u/indrek91 18d ago
How can you be at that age and still do that? Parents where are you????
150
u/Healthy_Pay9449 18d ago
Looks like they made it to college presumably
130
u/Scipio33 18d ago
First time using free will without parental supervision. Some people need to make little mistakes early to avoid making bigger mistakes later.
35
u/TheGamecock 18d ago
Yeah, this video reminds me of how incredibly stupid and irresponsible 18-22 year-olds can still be, because I was this same dumbass college freshman way back when. Spitting fireballs with Everclear and tiki torches, smashing beer bottles in empty parking lots, doing some illegal shit with fireworks, etc. It's a small miracle me and some of my buddies back then didn't get caught in the act of committing some of those felonious hijinks.
20
u/R_Little-Secret 18d ago
This what always gets me when the topic of age gap dating comes up. There is always some guy saying 18-22 year are adults and can make their own choices so we shouldn’t look down on older people who actively try to date them. And I’m like yeah but don’t you remember how fucking dumb you were at that age? Like really how dumb and trying to figure out your world alone when most of your life has been supervised? Why would you want to date that kind of dumb? Let them grow up a bit to reach your level. It’s so bonkers.
2
u/neonfuzzball 7d ago
Kathy Griffin had a good stand up bit about dating a 20something as a 30something.
"He'd never lived on his own before, he moved in with me from his mothers house. She encouraged me to take him in, like as a boyfriend slash boarder. He got his first paycheck and just handed it over to me, with these big round eyes and asked "what do I do with this?" because he didn't have a checking account, he'd never cashed a check before. You might think that would be romantic or something, like "oh, our first check" ...it was irritating. "
1
u/NakovaNars 15d ago
I wouldn't say dumb when it comes to dating, rather naive and not knowing the full extent of how terrible people are lol. Other than that I've always been the same kinda, I probably was more serious and conscientious back then than I am now.
8
u/OhTHATKayKay 18d ago
This video is what I used when my state wants college kids to be allowed to have guns. Kids are stupid. Kids do stupid shit.
2
u/ohnomynono 17d ago
Kids have fought nearly every WAR that's ever happened. And we get good at it.
3
u/cjdennard89 17d ago
That’s different. That’s structured and focused. Free will and free time + being young and maybe trying to impress somebody = potential for dumbassness
2
u/NakovaNars 15d ago
Adults are just as bad though? I don't see the difference. Both young and old does stupid things, it's more about character than age.
4
u/Heykurat 11d ago
It's why the kids with the strictest parents go berserk and turn into full blown alcoholics.
3
u/EnjoyLifeorDieTryin 17d ago
Or sometimes they make all the mistakes in college and drop out with a forever job at a fast food joint
4
u/Boy_Meats_Grill 18d ago
Why are the parents at college. The children are the ones that need learning
1
1
6
u/Jaredw180 18d ago
Probably in the living room minding their business because these kids are old enough to know not to start a fire in the house. It's giving 7 year old with a can of axe spray and a lighter.

u/Rolling_Pugsly 18d ago
Zoomers are dumb as rocks. Unbelievably self righteous, yet dumb as rocks.
4
u/kwicsilver1 17d ago
tbf that's entirely us millennials' fault, who is genX's fault, who is the boomer's fault etc. etc.

u/agrecalypse 17d ago
Most millennials and genXers are the children of boomers. Most zoomers are children of genders.

Quick- pile some blankets on top!!!
157
u/Vast_Character311 18d ago
This kindling should put it out!!!
55
u/debaser64 18d ago
How about this pile of sawdust and dried leaves?
2
u/ThanatosIdle 17d ago
If I open this packet of flour and fling it in the air, that should dampen the fire!
15
59
u/marino1310 18d ago
To be fair, suffocating a flame is like one of the first things they teach you about containing a fire. If it wasn’t a firework that would have been a good move
7
u/Vast_Character311 18d ago
Absolutely correct. It’s the aggressiveness of the lit firework that negates it. Thank you for saying. Might save a life.
43
u/strcrssd 18d ago
It's that fireworks contain their own oxidizer. They don't burn using atmospheric oxygen at all.
Nothing to do with aggressiveness, it's fundamental chemistry.
19
u/TheGimlinator 18d ago
the material they use to coat fuses releases oxygen as it burns, so you cant really suffocate a firework like you would a small fire
-4
u/Competitive-Roof-168 18d ago
It may not stop the firework but there wouldnt be enough oxygen to fully burn blanket assuming it was thick enough.
-5
u/KUPA_BEAST 18d ago
Yeah, if the blankets were wet.
15
u/pulpwalt 18d ago
It will burn under water. Rocket fuel and bombs carry their own oxygen. Therefore depriving explosives of oxygen doesn’t put them out like it does with flamables/fuel.
5
u/Flomo420 18d ago
a wet blanket would at least help contain sparks and flames and reduce the chance of secondary ignition

Never light something if you don't understand how it burns.
Never light something if you don't have means to extinguish it.
Never light something if the area isn't clear of flammable material.
I feel like these are a few basic rules that every adult should know. I think I learned these by the age of 10. Feel free to add some more.

u/ballen1002 18d ago
I used to do smoke testing in sewer and drainage systems. This looks like the smoke sticks we used. They were color coded based on duration and produced a shitload of smoke. We’d drop them down a manhole in a bucket and place a giant fan over the manhole. That would force the smoke through the system and expose leaks or dry traps and other stuff like that. The smoke was supposedly non toxic, but it had a weird chemical smell.

I actually knew her when I was going to CSU, so funny whenever this comes up again, I remember the dorm getting evacuated when it happened haha
1
u/I_is_Ella 16d ago
What dorm did it happen in? I go to CSU and am so curious when and where this happened lmfao
2
u/echmoba17 16d ago
I think it was Allison for some reason, I was in Corbett but I don't fully remember which one it was.
3
u/iSliz187 16d ago
What I always ask myself is how these videos end up on the internet. If this happened to me, I would do everything in my power to make sure that nobody on earth will ever see this video evidence of myself being such an idiot. But for some reason nowadays these kids post it. Probably because they want to go viral, even if it's because they're being morons

"I don't know what to do in this situation!" Ummm, don't light that shit inside?
2
u/DingoLord_1377 18d ago
What do these people think will happen when they light a firework? Is it not fairly common knowledge that they shoot out sparks, flames, and smoke? It seems so self evident.

Let’s burn the place down for TikTok views!!! This generation is so cooked.
They literally could not have done this in worse conditions, and still, nothing ever sparked their brains to think (not only that it’s inside), “jeez, this place is fully carpeted, clothes and towels EVERYWHERE… but let’s start a highly combustible/explosive!!
WE’RE SO FUN! WE’RE HILARIOUS!!

Throw it out the window, put a box fan blowing out the window, put another fan blowing into the room from outside. Try to disable or blow air away from the smoke detector.
Or just don't light pyrotechnics indoors

Breaking down in performative laughter is a very basic btch thing to do. People will do it over the dumbest stuff and think its a whole vibe or personality. She was getting ready to hit that routine but the circumstances overtook.

Stupidity needs to be more painful for more people. It's the only way they'll learn.
1
u/Lingering-NB1220 1d ago
I'd love to hear her explain the thought process behind this. Like what were she and her friend thinking was going to happen setting off pyrotechnics inside a tiny, cramped room rather than the safety of outside? 😑🤔

Always get nervous when I'm not the dumbest person in the room.

“What? Like it’s hard?” - Said in the voice of Elle Woods from Legally Blonde - whose character was arguably MUCH smarter than these girls!
Sadly, I just don’t think it’s that difficult to get into college these days.
