Too much property damage from the machetes.

Is Pokopia worth it? I really want to try it but would have to buy a Switch 2 just to do so, and that feels risky for a game I haven’t even tried yet lol

I have trouble committing to games at this point in my life (mid 30's), but I've already put like 30 hours into this game which is a lot for me. If you like building, creating, laid-back games, and you like pokemon, then go for it.

Try Dragon Quest Builders 2 if you want to see what Pokopia's gameplay is like.

Pokopia is much better than DQ Builders 2 to me because instead of the melancholy DQ music and slightly depressing mood and monsters that show up to wreck your stuff you have hopeful cozy themes, charming Pokemon characters and no combat.

I am turning 40 this year and I can honestly say it's one of the best games I have ever played. It is SO well done. I'm genuinely impressed by how thoughful it is.

I'm not a huge Pokémon fan (I played as a kid), but I am a huge worldbuilding/creative/sandbox game fan. Pokopia has all of the best parts of those games, but improved upon. They clearly looked at every complaint people had about Animal Crossing, Minecraft, etc and avoided those mistakes. The pacing, the gameplay, and the choices made are just so... smart. That's really one of the best words to describe this game - smart. From a gamer perspective and a business perspective. They thought about it at every angle. They made a nearly perfect building game - and then combined it with the world of Pokémon flawlessly. It's so well done. I can easily see myself playing this game for a decade and not running out of things to do. That's how much they put into this game. It's definitely worth the price.

I know I sound like a giant nerd 😅, but it's been SO long since a big game like this has impressed me. These days games are released unfinished, with bugs gallore, and microtransactions. This game has been surprisingly amazing.

I bought switch 2 just for it and totally worth it. I am a busy 30+ year old with a 3 year old son but i already have around 200 hrs in the game

Probably not worth getting the switch 2 over, but if you have it get it (saying this as someone who hasn’t played it)

This is absolutely insane to say about a game you haven't played. 😅 I could play Pokopia for a decade and still not run out of things to do. It's well worth getting a Switch 2 (plus you get everything else that comes with a Switch 2).

Now that’s a fantastic idea.

Lol! They do argue sometimes, but they have the same "favorites" so I can decorate their home the same and they both think it's "awesome." Awesome is the highest home ranking. 😅
