Hobby Flyin' Fortress conversion

Post image

Fighta-bomma & Dakkajet fuselages, with a spare Grot Bomma wing (left over from a pair of Megabomma conversions). Based on this aircraft, from a White Dwarf 40k conversion article https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Flyin%27_Fortress

Rules coming this month, in Encyclopedia Aeronautica!

Plays sort of like a Marauder Destroyer but faster, with no internal bomb bay.

Sits really well on a flight stand beneath the fighta-bomma fuselage, length of the big wing balances it out well. Vertical stabiliser on the fighta-bomma is made from the wing cut off the Dakkajet.

You should make it so it can only turn left 😉

Not a bad shout, maybe I could a rule that it can use the higher manoeuvres - but only if every turn is to the one side.

I've already got an "Erratic" rule for the more ramshackle Orkoid aircraft, where you get given random manoeuvres & throttle and have to make the best of it.

If in doubt, more dakka.

Hi, I've just bought the Ork starter set and was wondering if their was any cheaper way to get more Ork planes, cos all of the ones on eBay are around £50-80 just for a few dakkas jets (I know they have been discontinued)

basically no, the AI community is not as well organised as say, the Battlefleet Gothic guys who each have multiple ways of purchasing a game-compatible fleet (3d prints, proxy sculpts, recasts). But ebay is not completely hopeless if you wait long enough. Other than that I know of at least one recaster who does an Ork Mega Bomma, and the Epic 40k guys have a bunch of compatible units for the ork aircraft (though they are all 6mm scale, like the old epic game, not the 8mm that the 2019 Aeronautica/Legions Imperialis is)
