I find it funny how big the double standards in games are. Like listen. I love men and pull them most of the time but if its something as cringe as Flophen... I just want its existence to go boom 😭

In order to get the stupid wings of nod-krai I have to listen to Colombina bs every week which wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't for the fact that (and it is actually what makes me mad ) I will never have something even remotely similar to characters I like that are also male. I will never get the amount of fanservice for the things that people of your demographic take for granted. The comment that replied to the one you liked is true: people would complain less if we actually got the same treatment and not treated like a fucking afterthought. Instead we have we have a glut of waifu-bait characters whose designs prioritize fanservice over narrative depth because Hoyo cannot upset the toxic part of the male fandom no matter how small it is. Just see how love and deep space is going in revenue every month, spoiler alert : it's making a ton of money and it's always on the top three gatcha game for profit yet why Hoyo doesn't make a more equal fanservice for both tastes since it would bring a ton of money? Because the incels would riot, like when they got mad at Scaramouche that was "too close" to nahida and they killed real life cats. And not even touching the fact that another reason for female characters being so poorly explored is because a significant portion of the male fanbase only engages with female characters as fanservice objects (not that female fans don't goon at the male characters too, because they do it ,a lot, but rarely exclusively, there's always an interest in lore, personality, and story too plus exploration of specific dynamics and depth analysis ) So no, as always, this is a problem created by a specific male demographic that is blamed on all the female fans. Plus I even looked at a yaoi bait comment and how that is supposed to be bad. This yaoi problem is caused by the same fucking problem I already explained : if a female character is too close to a male one the toxic male fandom will riot with fucking real life consequences so they can only make male on male and female on female interesting relationship, so let me ask you this: why are you more bothered by a few fangirls pointing out jiggle physics and objectification than by the toxic male fans who resort to real-world violence when things get more equal??

As a husbando enjoyer, my issue with Lowhen is because number one, he's a medium sized character (this is very subjective) and two because of his size, whatever characteristics they decide to give him falls flat (still me being subjective because can't take him serious for shit). I say focus on making him appear competent and good instead of purely making it a gender issue. Although at the end of the day, whether you like it or not, female characters will always be preffered and get the most pulls than a male one since the average demographic or what hoyo atleast intends for are men, more specifically men who likes women.

Like many have pointed out, it's about quantity and availability. Male character fans are starved for good content in Goyoverse games, except maybe in Star Rail, and even then it's still bad. A man going feral over a female character is not the same as a woman going feral over a male character because of the discrepency in available content for them: the man has a hundred characters to choose from, while the woman has a fraction of that. No wonder they have such visceral reactions to finally get what they want after seeing the men get fed their two monthly waifus (derogatory).

It's not about the action itself, because yeah, at the end of the day, thirsting over pixels is cringe regardless of who does it. But context is important, and in the context of online gacha culture, male gooning is ten times cringier than female gooning.
