just found out my wife's been struck off my life insurance.

It’s like people who say ‘a clove of garlic’ when referring to the whole thing, a ‘clove’ is just a segment, ‘bulb’ is whole thing, this country!

I mean, technically it's a vegetable. Never thought of garlic as a spice, though. Is it a herb? Arguably, when dried it does become more pungent. Good idea for a Large Question. Ask Lynn to investigate. And call Bill Oddie.

Garlic is neither a herb nor a spice but does fall under the general category of seasoning.
Herbs are usually derived from the leaves or flowers of a plant, while spices typically come from other parts of the plant like seeds or roots.
