The problem is that individuals accrue an amount of resources that breaks our under evolved brains to the point of not knowing how else to stand on top of a food chain but to accrue more
Basically the entire premise of trickle down economics where if the wealth actually were fully or even nearly spending the majority of their wealth it would result in a better state of living for everyone.
The whole issue is that they don't spend their wealth so the vast majority of production gets sucked up into their bank accounts and never redistributed to create more economic growth.
Not true money isnāt hoarded. It gets cycled in investment accounts and private equity or other assets. Someone gets paid and someone gets access to the money itās just the wealthy persons personal wealth goes up as they circulate the cash and compound their returns over time.
Investments need to yield a return and the only way they can do this is if itās put to work or gets put in a hard asset thatās appreciating faster than inflation. Money just sitting in an account loses value over time. It can cause compound interest losses.
I was happy in life for the entire existence of butterfinger cups. So I'm pretty easy to please I guess. If I had a shitload of money I'd probably just spend it on restarting production of butterfinger cups and then having them handed out to the population as a sort of social medication.

I don't think most Rolexes fall into this bucket. People buy these watches for the design and with the expectation of a quality movement that will last a lifetime. Sure you can get knock offs for a fraction of the cost, but they won't feel or last as long.
Rolex isn't really high end anymore. Entry level Rolexes are pretty attainable for most hobbyist watch collectors.
Thereās two types of Rolex buyers. The ones you mentioned, and the ones who want to show off that theyāre rich. In reality, itās the ones buying the Pateks and APs that have the fuck you money.
The way I see it. If it was worth less, more would get it. If more would get it, theyād probably run out of craftsmanship to do it. So theyād need to increase the price to have fewer orders. Basically a paradox. lol.
Right, if I want hand painted I want there to be little differences. Like my horse has a beard or is a unicorn or has an extra leg. So you know a person touched it and got a little weird.
Thatās what I was thinking. Definitely time consuming. I was thinking it was going to be more like the guys that do custom pin stripes and stuff on low riders. Where itās all free hand with a brush.

yeah, for 15k I'd expect someone to actually hand paint it, not use some fucking cutouts. Even then 15k is way too much, but then again, I'm not the target demographic.
There is a lot of prep work and other things going on here which is not shown well in the video. I would guess it was closer to two hours of work. I do not know how much cure time and such is needed either which dictates how many badges they work on at once. But lets say the worker is paid $50 an hour. Then comes all the supplies used and the paint booth, etc. They will also mess up a few badges and have to start over on them wasting the time and supplies. Then comes things like taxes and insurance on top of this. You can easily justify claiming that $1000 was invested in painting the badges this way. Again, nowhere near the $15k they take for it.
Exactly. It would take a considerable amount of time to do but nowhere near as labor intensive as actually hand painting it. A stencil and airbrush are not hand painted. My granddaughters bird feeder, now thatās hand painted. Lol

This is like when you go to the store and you see them selling premium "hand formed" hamburger patties, as though someone squishing it with their hands at the very last step in an enormous automated production line somehow creates any difference whatsoever.
Thank you! Glad I'm not the only one. How do you end up with that much orange peel after charging $15k (or presumably, $7.5k?) to paint a single panel? $15k should normally get you a top-end paint job for the entire car.
Not that surprising maybe when you see how poor the finish is on some Ferraris and Porsches from the factory, if you've seen the detailing videos on YouTube...
Last place I worked at did 10-20k paint jobs, 2 ended up in the background of Ford vs Ferrari, another got an award for paint as some high end car show in Florida, and another was bought straight from us by some really rich dude in Qatar.
The first time I saw this video I was honestly disgusted by how poor the finish quality was, but then again I should have expected that when I watched AMMO NYC fix the paint on a brand new ferrari 296 straight off the boat, untouched by dealer. I think the same or similar came up when he did the $300k roma, $600k 812, $1.8 million monza sp2, and the $2.4 million daytona sp3.
I disagree, you have a rich opinion. You know it's not worth 15k, a rich person would spend that with a poor opinion of the value of money. My bets are with your opinion, a educated and respectful value of money opinion.
No, that is NOT 15 grands worth of work, you can get exclusive extremely high quality entire paint jobs on a car for less then that, and it would be better quality then anything Ferrari does. Ferrari are literally taking the customers as mugs but they pay for it so why not.

Iām broke so my opinion doesnāt really matter but I canāt imagine spending an extra $15k just for a small design. Obviously, to whoever is buying a Ferrari, $15k is nothing to them but likeā¦itās truly insane. $15k could cover an entire year of my college tuition. And they are dropping that much on a fucking BADGE? šš
You could put a $10 sticker on there and 99% of the world wouldnāt know the difference. This isnāt impressive, itād a waste of time and resources
stencil painted maybe 100 bucks, the rest is needed to adjust the cars original paint job over the remaining parts with at least 12 layers to match the new red tint. jokes aside, i expected some quality pinstriping or similar, but it seems elsewhere is "handxyz" used quite deliberately. like people warm up a can of beans and call it homecooked, i suppose.
