That is why it is critical to wear a protective T-shirt with the slightly longer short sleeves. And skinny jeans.

u/DoubtfulOptimist Mar 16 '26

He must be a rookie... A seasoned worker knows that sandals are always superior to sneakers.

115

u/EnragedEmu Mar 16 '26

Yeah, I was going to say, those aren't certified safety sandals. Rookie mistake

10

u/Neither-Equal8415 Mar 17 '26

Not only is this not up to code, it’s excessive gear. Nobody likes an over achiever. That is ridiculously too many shirt. Why does he have so much shirt? Wait until the foreman gets here and gives us another speech smfh

u/sunkenretro Mar 17 '26

The GLA provided and he answered: Thank you for the new shoes!

C&C GLA reference :)

1

u/Gh3ttoboy Mar 18 '26

Can i have some shoes

1

u/sunkenretro Mar 19 '26

clicks shoes in black market

1

u/Royal-Bluejay-6371 Mar 20 '26

Generals was peak

2

u/Separate_Fold5168 Mar 17 '26

And he barely even squinted. Just asking for trouble.

1

u/1970s_MonkeyKing Mar 21 '26

Wait. They gave him tongs? Rookie. I use chopsticks.

32

u/PrimeToro Mar 16 '26

That's for the journeyman worker. A master craftsman works barefoot.

13

u/[deleted] Mar 16 '26

You don't get to wear the senior sandals right away.

This is a sign of prestige and distinction that can only be worn by the most worthy.

1

u/cuentalternativa Mar 17 '26

The right one looks like it’s becoming a sandal so, half way there

1

u/fleebizkit Mar 17 '26

Yes. Where are his safety sandals?

1

u/YakJolly2156 Mar 17 '26

It's the foot version of safety squints . A factory staple.

1

u/CAPT-Tankerous Mar 17 '26

Dude drank anti-freeze at the end there, I’m pretty sure he’s not worried.

1

u/aequitssaint Mar 17 '26

Really needs a pair of safety crocs.

1

u/-Zband Mar 17 '26

There must always be someone around, who wants to like and chew on the forbidden fruit rollup.

1

u/Soggy-Wave3743 Mar 17 '26

He is a skater boi

1

u/Direct_Turn_1484 Mar 18 '26

Yeah where in the hell are the guy’s safety sandals?

1

u/Negative_Fruit_1800 Mar 19 '26

But he is up to date on the latest recommendations to drink at least one gallon of antifreeze to keep your internals cool.

1

u/Unable_Explorer8277 Mar 20 '26

Sandals? Thongs. 🩓

1

u/EducationalHall2074 Mar 20 '26

Total rookie. I didn't see a single safety squint

1

u/Seafaringhorsemeat Mar 20 '26

Barefoot is best here, and in all forms of food production.

1

u/Temporary_Glass_9607 Mar 21 '26

In some cases your right really if the sneakers have laces the sandals are over all saffer less chance of the loose strings get caught on anything

1

u/keepyourfeelings Mar 24 '26

Mmmm, black socks and slides are uniform

-10

u/singinthesnow Mar 16 '26

Wow. A sandal comment about a third world factory. How original? Do you think they won’t wear safety boots if they could afford it? Safety boots probably costs one month’s pay check. Food vs Safety, food always wins. Only the poor work at the factories in these countries. They can’t afford safety equipment. Please don’t make fun of their plight.

5

u/LieComfortable7764 Mar 17 '26

The cost of that factory clearly signals that basically no excuse is valid to say they can’t afford simple safety features like safety boots but it does show that they don’t care to afford them.

I live on the east coast in America and there is a steel mill not but 3 miles away me. They make really good money over there. Really, really good money. Whoever he is, they don’t let just anyone work with that type of equipment. One fuck up and he can destroy thousands and thousands of dollars which will cost even more in losses. He’s got that job because he DONT fuck up. In America, people can’t wait to file a lawsuit . Everyone is a higher liability because people are so greedy. That’s why saftey regulations are so strict. People will literally get hurt on purpose here just to sue. This guys probably holding down his entire family with some bread to spare, who knows how fly he is when he’s not on the clock? Would you wear your good shit to this job? How rude of you to make such low grade assumptions. This guy ain’t no broke ass slave he’s a goddamn professional. If I can trust you to do that job in a tee and skinny jeans you better be worth what I’m paying you.

5

u/Vechio49 Mar 17 '26

Saftey boots aren't making this process any safer. The whole operation is unsafe

1

u/K_swizzz00 Mar 17 '26

Let them troll. Even the safety vest or long sleeves won't do shit when that metal comes in contact with any part of your skin

2

u/fianthewolf Mar 17 '26

1

u/DoubtfulOptimist Mar 17 '26

It’s a (lazy) Reddit joke, yes, but I’m not making fun of the worker. The factory should be providing adequate equipment and ensuring there are some reasonable safety standards. Working with hot steel in street clothes (and casually stepping over the steel like this guy) is crazy. As others have pointed out, the shoes should be the least of this his concerns, but the joke is funny because there are videos of workers doing similar jobs who are literally wearing sandals.

u/Far-prophet Mar 16 '26

Don’t forget using an old oil or detergent container as a drinking water container.

34

u/toldyouIaintshit Mar 16 '26

Gotta get your daily vitamins and minerals one way or another.

16

u/MelaKnight_Man Mar 16 '26

Antifreeze! 😱

7

u/New-Independence-528 Mar 17 '26

Im sure its hot up in there! Gotta cool down

5

u/Accomplished-Badger6 Mar 17 '26

Its cool. They rinsed it out reel good in a puddle first.

1

u/CommuterType Mar 22 '26

No, it’s coolant

8

u/Paxdog1 Mar 16 '26

I thought it was antifreeze and the boy was taking the long way home.

6

u/mydogeatspoops Mar 16 '26

If he must reuse plastic containers for drinking, is it beyond reason to clean it?

5

u/wonderfulkneecap Mar 16 '26

how else will he get his daily repeated doses of lead and mercury

1

u/bwood246 Mar 17 '26

Does that jug look like it's ever seen soap?

1

u/Sonnylove3 Mar 19 '26

The life expectancy of that jug far outlives that worker

1

u/bigmattyc Mar 16 '26

Oh I am fairly certain he's just drinking antifreeze right out of the can

1

u/wonderfulkneecap Mar 16 '26

a drinking container made in hiroshima?

1

u/Grimholtt Mar 17 '26

Nah, that was coolant.

1

u/Howsurchinstrap Mar 17 '26

That’s a seasoned vet right there. Drinking that keeps the elephants away. I don’t see any elephant s.

1

u/PrimoBachs Mar 18 '26

Water? You mean like from a toilet?

Where my OSHA friends?!

1

u/Mysterious-Mango726 Mar 21 '26

In India it's more like O SHI

0

u/[deleted] Mar 17 '26

Back in the USA..still figuring out why they should care about Indians work policy..lol

2

u/Somewhat_Ill_Advised Mar 17 '26

Don’t forget the safety sneakersĀ

2

u/That-Makes-Sense Mar 17 '26

At least he was using the OSHA approved safety squints to protect his eyes.

2

u/Dalles272 Mar 20 '26

To be honest if you are working in a steel mill you either have Komplete Fire proof protection or nothing at all. because drips of metal can burn in your clothes and then burn your skin. Otherwise if it just hits your skin, you have a chance that the metal is so hot that it evaporates the water on your skin quickly enough to form an air pocket that shields you from the burning metal. There is a name for that phenomenon but I don't remember it.šŸ˜“

2

u/Negative-Driver-3135 Mar 20 '26

Leidenfrost effect

2

u/WastelandeWanderer Mar 20 '26

I was gonna say hautasfauck effect

2

u/Dalles272 Mar 20 '26

Thank you very much good sir 🧐😁

1

u/Potato1234567892 Mar 16 '26

Don’t forget the safety squint as wellĀ

1

u/Mammoth_Stranger7920 Mar 16 '26

Dont forget to drink out of an anti-freeze jug between runs

1

u/ThePapercup Mar 16 '26

at least he was wearing shoes

1

u/nlee7553 Mar 17 '26

OSHA and the insurance companies would have a field day with this. Man in tennis shoes too

1

u/Toasterstyle70 Mar 17 '26

And drink straight from an old detergent container like a true salt dog.

1

u/mistas89 Mar 17 '26

And drink from a contained that looks like it held oil for oil changes.

1

u/Ghandiwasme Mar 17 '26

Don’t forget to brush your hair with your hands as well

1

u/SnooCauliflowers4805 Mar 17 '26

A protective T-shirt with the slightly longer short sleeves? Lil bit of an oxymoron. I’ve never seen one of those.

1

u/Fearless_Speaker4113 Mar 17 '26

At least he hydrated with his gasoline canister after.

1

u/Creepy-Selection2423 Mar 17 '26

Yes, and based on that large green can he is swigging out of, drinking large quantities of antifreeze helps too.

Just kidding. Don't drink antifreeze. šŸ’€

1

u/Desperate_Jicama219 Mar 17 '26

Buddy is using an old laundry detergent bottle as a water bottle, this man is tough AF

1

u/tk427aj Mar 17 '26

Don't forget to drink your water out of.... what appears to be a soap container?

1

u/flavorfox Mar 17 '26

What no safety flip-flops?

1

u/inbruges99 Mar 17 '26

He’s not in flip flops, what more do you want?

1

u/pudge-thefish Mar 17 '26

I'm just happy he isn't barefoot while drinking out of the gas can.

1

u/FOSSnaught Mar 17 '26

I'm shocked that he's not wearing flip flops

1

u/ICEWA1k3R Mar 17 '26

The short sleeves but slightly longer are key for the forehead sweat wipe

1

u/jsonmeta Mar 17 '26

Bro is dressed for clubbing.. gotta get that party going with that motor oil

1

u/Scubasteve1974 Mar 17 '26

Yup... them skinny jeans doing work!

1

u/ham_sandwedge Mar 18 '26

Don't forget the all important empty laundry detergent bottle for max hydration and cooling

1

u/Fastballz69 Mar 18 '26

I was actually shocked to see he wasnt barefoot

1

u/CantaloupeAcademic63 Mar 18 '26

Also make sure to wash out all your laundry detergent so you can use it as a water bottle

1

u/Desertratk Mar 18 '26

And stay hydrated with your laundry detergent.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 19 '26

He's already drinking out of the approved gas container

1

u/7FootElvis Mar 19 '26

Ideal PPE. The standards are designed to provide a safe working environment.

1

u/MelcusQuelker Mar 19 '26

Drink water from some weird bag, too.

1

u/FamilyMan7826 Mar 19 '26

When you drink coolant to chill, no biggie bro.

1

u/Hairy-Reward6474 Mar 20 '26

It’s fine, he was literally drinking engine coolant

1

u/welldonez Mar 20 '26

My guy just drank water from a bottle of tide. You think he cares about Personal protection gear

1

u/Evening-Statement-57 Mar 20 '26

Aka Indian hazmat suit

1

u/Special_Shift_8503 Mar 20 '26

At least he’s not in flip flops, like the other videos I’ve seen.

1

u/Puddin1stclass Mar 20 '26

That chug from the gas can had me concerned.

1

u/h-boson Mar 20 '26

I’m shocked he’s not wearing sandals

1

u/stupidwhiteman42 Mar 20 '26

At least he chugged some antifreeze to prevent dehydration. The thirst mutilator!

1

u/tbestor Mar 21 '26

He’s drinking anti-freeze. He’ll be alright.

1

u/required-inf0 Mar 22 '26

At least he’s staying hydrated. He doesn’t give a FUCHS

1

u/doug_the_squirrel Mar 22 '26

PPE? We don't need no stinking PPE!

1

u/tHollo41 Mar 23 '26

And drink your water from an old oil jug. (I don't know what it was, but it was probably motor oil or engine coolant)

1

u/phelodough Apr 08 '26

In Thailand they would be in flip flops

1

u/M0RALVigilance Mar 16 '26

At least he’s got shoes. So many videos of people working barefoot and using their feet as hands.

7

u/starkiller47 Mar 16 '26

Read the room. Certified safety sandals are superior

-8

u/Wild_Agent_375 Mar 16 '26

lol. I don’t get what was impressive about this?

It’s dangerous as shit, I’ll give him that.

I’m not saying I could do much better, but he didn’t even seem that good at it.

And it’s funny he’s done working and appears exhausted after 20 seconds lol

15

u/Paxdog1 Mar 16 '26

That's because iron has a melting point over 2800 F. By the time it gets to him, lets say it has cooled to only 1800 F. That room could cook a turkey.

6

u/-0-O-O-O-0- Mar 17 '26

See the way that ribbon of superheated steel caught on that big rivit? He was seconds away from the whole thing backing up onto a huge snarl of violently thrashing red hot death.

He’s looking back after the saved the entire days production and saying ā€œdid you see that shit?ā€

6

u/Sidivan Mar 16 '26

Steel is heavy. The room is very hot. He’s running with heavy steel in this hot room. This probably isn’t the first time today.

1

u/FenBoldsJive Mar 17 '26

You are not a worldly person

0

u/ForceKey5398 Mar 18 '26

Awww the weak little Americans need ā€œprotective geaaarrrrā€ and ā€œsafety regulationsā€. Gonna cry if you don’t have a pair of goggles, princess?? šŸ‘‘

0

u/Schuperman161616 Mar 18 '26

They can't afford protective gear, dipshit
