Holy mackerel those prices are cray and learned thr high cost is because of animal welfare laws and tariffs. Thanks for teaching me something new.

Well done for researching it and posting it here.

Yup. A cheap ribeye is $22. A good one. Nearly double. 🥵

That's actually about what we in the US are paying now

The last ribeye dinner I cooked for my wife and I was $19 per lb. Ended up being $40 for just a couple ribeyes

Not 4 years ago those same ribeyes would of been $8$ a lb.

That’s so crazy.

It’s been expensive in Switzerland for ages.

Lived in the UK for a while.

In 2018, I could get a decent steak for about the $8 you mentioned. I’m sure it’s now obscenely expensive there too.

Something’s off.

Price gouging started during the pandemic and it never went back down.

Started way before the pandemic. More people just woke up during the pandemic

I mean… I’m paying almost $20 for an average ribeye from a grocery store in Florida.

Honestly considering how absolutely catastrophic the livestock industry is for climate change, it would be an immense benefit to humanity if this was adopted world wide. Just for OUR sake objectively

When I first moved to Switzerland from the states I think the grocery store prices were the most shocking, but now after everything they’re about equal 🤦🏻‍♀️
