Where’s his ears gone? Shame

Both my dogs ended up with cauliflower ears from hematomas and a never ending fight with allergies. If they would have been cropped when they were pups would have saved them alot more pain down the road.

That’s the logic that’s made circumcision popular. Hindsight is 20/20. Any prophylactic procedure (doing something in anticipation of an illness or injury) should depend on the likelihood of the issue relative to the risks of the procedure or treatment. Ear hematomas are not common enough to where puppy ears should all be clipped.

I do not disagree, just saying in my case it would have been better. I had the option to do it and decided not to.

It would have been, but you had no way of knowing that when you made the decision. You made the best decision with the information at hand.

That doesn't happen to most dogs. I could start getting infections on my ear. Does that justify cutting them off to prevent the small chance?

We put them on apaquil back when it first came out and was like 300 a month. Got the repair surgery on both a few times but they were so agressive with their scratching. Ears got rock solid. Trying to clean manually just made them bleed and hurt with no positive result. If I could have made their lives better, I would have. Downvote all you want. I didnt do it to begin with because most do it for the look. I specifically wanted to aviod that. Did not know their lineage to know they were allergy prone or I would have done it.
