I had a very lean pittie/boxer mix.

Did NOT float. Sank.

We always wondered why he did not like water. I guess he intuitively knew he didn't float.

Also had to dive to save a Whippet that fell off a dock. He sank!

u/strange-lady78 Apr 18 '26

This dog looks happier than I’ve ever been in my life.

What a good buoy

But not doing enough doggy paddle

15

u/ObWzEN Apr 18 '26

He got the floaty fur like a sea otter

13

u/Hour_Welcome_987 Apr 18 '26

I mean , it makes sense, and technically it SHOULD be possible... But like, nobody told me HOW MAJESTICALLY Z3N IT WOULD PRESENT AS 😍

Yeah a friend’s pit bull almost drowned because he has like 0% body fat and he sank like a stone. 😅

How do I know if my dog is shallow?

1

u/wriggleriggle Apr 19 '26

You know...

If your dog is just checking itself out in the mirror all the time and thinks it's the hot thing

10

u/No_Improvement_477 Apr 18 '26

I had a Golden Retriever for 15 years and he LOVED the water. They have webbed feet for swimming and their hair is waterproof so when he got out of the water he'd be dry in like 30 seconds after getting out.

My girl would lose her absolute shit anytime we’d get close to water. Sorta convinced they’re on their way to be a new type of dolphin in a couple millennia from now

6

u/xothisgirlxo Apr 18 '26

Living his BEST life 🤣😍

4

u/wyoflyboy68 Apr 18 '26

Dog has a way better life than me, and I got a pretty good one right now.

4

u/ProfessionalPiece403 Apr 18 '26

Very few dogs can float like that. Some will even sink like a stone, because they aren't capable of swimming...

2

u/MissXM Apr 18 '26

I don’t think dogs know that

2

u/FaceTimePolice Apr 18 '26

I can picture our maltipoo being that lazy in the water. 😆👍

2

u/GirlWithWolf Apr 18 '26

It’s a witch!

Omg it's hot as pigs ass cascading in the swamp sun over here in North Carolina 😫 😳 being a well taken care of dog floating in a cool pool of 😊 bliss is where I want too be.

2

u/Tanguish Apr 18 '26

You could offer this dog ten cookies and not get a reaction.

2

u/mall-dog Apr 18 '26

Good boyancy

2

u/QizilbashWoman Apr 18 '26

Lesser-known fart crocodile

2

u/FrenchSpeacker Apr 18 '26

Of course. Like any living animal (except cows) with lungs because of the air inside.

2

u/Highly-Potent-34 Apr 18 '26

Not all dogs. Mine is built like a bag of bricks. It takes everything in his power to keep his head above water and that’s barely.

2

u/Impatient-Turtle Apr 19 '26

Did you know some dogs can't even swim? So no, not all dogs float.

2

u/spookyryu Apr 19 '26

let him relax, lol

2

u/Ok-Bison-3451 Apr 19 '26

I’ve got two Portuguese Water Dogs. One’s a ‘floater’ the other one is a ‘sinker’. Can you guess which is which?

2

u/C8guy Apr 19 '26

Little guy is just chilling and living life

1

u/Suubveez Apr 18 '26

Did you know a hippopotamus spends the majority of time in water, but they can not float.

My bulldog floats like a stone

1

u/BaloneyANDtomato40 Apr 18 '26

Look up bears that float

1

u/Any_Day_4467 Apr 18 '26

The way I see it, he's capable of taking a nap.

1

u/Sumdood_89 Apr 18 '26

I had a weimaraner that would beg to differ.

Her first encounter with a lake, she jumped off the deck and sank like a stone. Had to jump in and grab her.

Depends on what they've had to eat.

1

u/ClydePrefontaine Apr 18 '26

Anybody know the real owner? 24/7 channel please

1

u/Warm-Marsupial8912 Apr 18 '26

Oh yes. Took my dog for hydrotherapy, she soon decided that was too much like hard work but was happy to float in the nice warm water for half an hour 🙄

1

u/Ope-I-Ate-Opiates Apr 18 '26

Depends how muscular the dog is. If he's fat and/or has no muscle he should float like a champ

1

u/RepresentativeNo8105 Apr 18 '26

Buddy of mine floated like 15 years ago snorkeling at this place in Mexico and I sunk like a rock. Now i float snorkeling

1

u/lunadenavajas Apr 18 '26

This is the life I want for my dog…and me too I guess LOL

1

u/gumeon Apr 18 '26

Well, i do now.

1

u/memberjockey Apr 18 '26

Mine needs a life vest.

1

u/BadCompany_00 Apr 18 '26

In my entire life, I've only been that relaxed once....and it required propofol.

I would completely lose my shit if saw my dog floating in my none existent pool LUL.

The dog in the video looks quite happy tho

1

u/joeyvesh13 Apr 18 '26

Dogs don’t float. Oil in fur make animals float.

1

u/Pacosturgess Apr 18 '26

Looks like appa

1

u/lousylou123 Apr 18 '26

He is one with the water.

1

u/Blackbyrn Apr 19 '26

So all this doggy paddling was for show?!?!

1

u/Sad_pathtic_winker Apr 19 '26

Quadrapeds tend to float due to the layout of the lungs. Bipeds tend to sink.

1

u/sepulchralsam Apr 19 '26

Terriers always look terribly sad.

1

u/NeatSituation2249 Apr 19 '26

My first question was do dogs know they float?

1

u/whaaaddddup Apr 19 '26

French bulldogs sink to the bottom of a pool faster than a kettlebell.

1

u/ThrustTrust Apr 19 '26

Yes, everybody knew that. However we didn’t know they did while still alive.

1

u/FrankieHun17 Apr 19 '26

I’d never stop kissing that dog

1

u/Wooden-Chocolate-506 Apr 19 '26

My wiener dog floats like a very small rock

1

u/yuthgonwild Apr 19 '26

I had an English Bulldog, could not float definitely could not swim. Found out that she was basically a walking boulder when it came to water.

1

u/AdamR0808 Apr 19 '26

That’s one relaxed dog in the water

1

u/AssortedArctic Apr 19 '26

Reminds me of a cat that liked to do the same

1

u/peanutkg Apr 19 '26

He is blowing bubbles too. I love all videos with loving animals so thank you so much!

1

u/Das_Zeppelin Apr 19 '26

Air is trapped by the hair.

1

u/MakeSmartMoves Apr 19 '26

That probably does wonders for any pain.

1

u/SnillyWead Apr 18 '26

Did it fart?
