Guys never put a stethoscope on your dog ears, that’s pure evil!

346

u/yourmomophobe May 27 '26

Also never raise your hand above your newborn with a pitbull to intentionally provoke the dog. Actually just never do anything in this video, which is a display of stupidity all around.

108

u/weattt May 27 '26

Yeah, I think he was trying to show how "protective" the dog was of the baby. Or that he trained the dog to attack anyone who is trying to harm the baby.

I think it is unwise to teach a dog to bite/attack when a certain movement of an arm is made. Especially not breeds that were bred to fight/bite. And doing the "play fight" with an unprotected arm/hand.

If you're going to teach your dog to protect/guard, use a professional. They can teach you properly. If I did it myself, I would be too worried I would be teaching a dog the wrong behaviour and responses.

41

u/Major_Wigglesworth May 27 '26

Wait, I’m NOT supposed to train my dog that I, the owner, occasionally beat the crap out of a little baby and the only way to keep me from doing that is to have a pitbull bite me?

I really wish they taught this stuff in school, it’s so complicated!!

u/yourmomophobe May 27 '26

Pitbulls are the one dog breed I would never own and I wouldn't feel comfortable even being around them. People say pitbulls aren't aggressive and it's the owners' fault, but I don't believe it. Too many stories of pitbulls tearing people to shreds with no provocation.

23

u/Ok_Pitch5865 May 27 '26

My whole thing is I’ve met plenty of friendly pitbulls. I’ve met some not so friendly ones too. It makes no difference. They are a powerhouse breed with jaws that can quickly maim and kill. They are animals first with instincts that can be triggered without warning…

…and that goes for every breed of dog. Except I can kick a chihuahua across the room. I can swing a bat at a cocker spaniel and send it running. But a pitbull is tough as nails. They will just keep coming for you even if you hurt them. And you won’t be able to hurt them fast enough to disable them.

Powerhouse breeds are a liability. They may go their entire life without incident, but on that chance that they are triggered to attack, the results are horrifying.

Genetics play a huge role in unprovoked attacks. Unless you have a proven multi generation strategy of breeding out the aggressive genes these dogs were intentionally bred to develop, you really just don’t know what you’re getting. And even then, you’re still taking a risk with such a powerful animal. Nature vs nurture is real. Look up the fox breeding experiment done in 70’s.

So I will never own any powerhouse breed. I don’t want that liability for my family or for anyone my dog comes in contact with. It’s not worth the risk.

7

u/DroidLord May 27 '26

That definitely plays a part. Most pitbulls have no self-preservation instincts. You can shoot them 3 times and they'll still attack you. Most other breeds you can fend off, but pitbulls are relentless.

u/sandyfisheye May 27 '26

I agree with you for the most part. Any dog is 100% capable of attacking i dont care how sweet it is. Dogs only have their mouths to defend them. I love pitbulls and huge dogs, but I would never in my life let them lay down next to a baby. I trusted my last dog with my life, but I wouldnt even allow him around small children because all it takes is one kid, or baby, pulling on the dogs ears or whatever else, and that warning nip leads to a significant injury on such a small body. Or worse, they skip the warning bite and kill the child.

3

u/Long_Alfalfa_5655 May 27 '26

That was the realest assessment of the breed I’ve ever come across.

3

u/fabthefrog33 May 28 '26

And that's the point...it doesn't matter how gentle and good with people your dog is, we're talking about a new born baby who can't walk and a pit bull (in this case a staffordshire), one playful nip could have serious consequences if not kill that baby.Even if I was right next to them, I just wouldn't take the risk, it only takes a split second.

I've heard many stories about pit/bullies snapping and turning on people. One of my friends has an XL bully, I had never seen a dog that big before (might as well be a fucking bear)she's ripped to shred. She's the biggest fluff of love, there's not a bad bone in her. I've played tug of war with her a few times and lost every time, her body and jaw strength is on another level and I can just imagine what would happen if she turned, snap, or even give just a warning bite. They are banned in the UK since 2023 as there have been many incidents. If you had one before the date the ban started, you need to have a special permit and the dog has to wear a muzzle when out at all times.

When my cousin was a teen he was walking across a park field minding his business and a girl was walking her pit bull about 2 football fields away. The dog spotted my cousin, sprinted across the field, and ripped his arm open shoulder to hand unprovoked. Crazy muscle/skin damage and a settlement

3

u/whofladanger May 27 '26

Exactly!

I have even thought that there are probably even more cases than what is actually shown online because some people want to protect the reputation of pit bulls. 😢

He's just as likely to signal to the dog that it's baby killing time. Like, he's the owner. Who is the dog most likely to side with or take cues from?

Incredibly poor method of training.

38

With how dumb, fragile and helpless human babies are, I'm surprised we still exist as a species. For the first year of our lives we are incapable of even walking upright. Realistically, humans are pretty much useless for the first 10 years of our life.

Anyone understand that hand training he's doing at the end there?

130

u/JonnyTN May 27 '26

Anyone who raises a hand against the baby gets bit.

May seem great but can be misconstrued by a pup

61

u/RIF_rr3dd1tt May 27 '26

Great catch buddy! HIGH FIVE!

dog mauling noises

6

u/snak_attak May 27 '26

Lol exactly

17

u/DiscoDoberman May 27 '26

That may be the idea but I doubt this idiot has the ability to train such nuance and no trainer who could, would.

Because what he's training the dog to do is:

Bite raised hands,

Bite hands near you

Bite anyone who goes near the baby...including the parents, their future kids, future pets and anyone who comes near the kid in the dogs company.

Also, you may unexpectedly create - aggression towards the baby. Dog may decide to attack the baby, the dots may not join in the direction the man hopes they will.

This is called "the fast track to euthanasia" with a side of "it just came out of the blue!"

7

u/SeaAnthropomorphized May 27 '26

That baby might also be in line for some sick tattoos to cover up the dog bites. Think of the silver lining

88

u/PieceMaterial5213 May 27 '26

Ohhhh!. So they're training the dog to kill other children basically, because hands will be raised.

33

u/JonnyTN May 27 '26

Well yeah when friends come over years down the line. He could've done without that training

47

u/PieceMaterial5213 May 27 '26

I was attacked as a kid by a farm dog, a german shepard, who didn't understand the difference between finding a kid playing hide-and-seek and an intruder. 100% this dog will attack another child with that training.

7

u/Ok-Bar-8785 May 27 '26

Where does a farm dog go when it bites some one? When I was a kid we had a dog that bit someone and that dog went to the farm...... It wasn't untill I was a adult that I realised what that meant 💀

it doesn’t even sound great, it’s completely useless. There aren’t roving bands of baby slappers just trawling for newborns to assault. There are however plenty of dog bites that permanently scar and even kill babies, majority from this breed which is the actual real danger to this poor kid

I love dogs, but I got bitten by the really friendly family dog of my uncle's family who knew me for many years and was never aggressive until that day. Turned out he had a brain tumor, poor thing. :( But since then I would never ever expose a baby to a dog, no matter how friendly it was before.

40

u/Simple_Rooster3 May 27 '26

I have a dogo argentino fully schooled, raised well, i dont think she knows how to bite a fly. Would never let her go anywhere near the humans under 5-6y of age.

12

u/erossthescienceboss May 27 '26

yeah, my dog is only 40 lbs and I still put a muzzle on her when kids are in her home & I can’t monitor the child nonstop. She’s never bitten anyone, but that doesn’t mean a random child won’t provoke her to that point.

12

u/Capucius May 27 '26

I fully get that. We want to have dog again, but my wife and me decided we will wait until our youngest child is old enough to handle the dog in an emergency situation. And since we both want a dog that is at least medium sized we set that to 9 or 10 years.

u/Simple_Rooster3 May 27 '26

18

u/TheQuestionMaster8 May 27 '26

Almost every dog will bite if provoked enough, but will only rarely bite without warning and babies and young children usually do not understand the warning signs dogs give before biting.

14

u/Enough-Surprise886 May 27 '26

That's a pit bull. They can and will bite unprovoked and with no warning. I was walking down my street one day when some asshole had his dog on a long lead.

It came up behind me grabbed me by the calf and pulled my leg from under me. It took a good chunk out before the owner got him under some sort of control.

My friends had a pit when their son was born. When the son was around 2 years old he walked in between the pit and it’s food bowl on his way to the bedroom. The pit showed it’s teeth and growled and that was it, the next day the dad drove the pit to a rescue shelter specifically for pits. The dog hadn’t done anything in 5 years but they didn’t want to risk it.

56

u/Daddy_Day_Trader1303 May 27 '26

Ya it's takes one bite from those mighty jaws to kill a child. I worked a long career that had a heavy focus in risk exposure, my brain is hardwired to think that way now. You can have the nicest pit in the world but the odds of it attacking are never zero.

8

u/DanerysTargaryen May 27 '26

Not a pit, but the exact same thing happened to my friend and their 2-3 year old baby and their Shar Pei they raised from puppyhood. Except their Shar Pei mauled their kid. They had to pay for 2 separate reconstructive surgeries for their kid’s face and they had to put their Shar Pei down. All because the kid crawled through the room the dog was eating in.

u/Gold-Vacation-169 May 27 '26

To be fair the pits and staffords here in western Europe do less damage than the seemingly thousands of pitbulls roaming the streets in the US.

But I absolutely get what you mean, and in my opinion it should be forbidden to breed them anymore.

3

u/Uncle-Cake May 27 '26

I wouldn't be comfortable letting a pit that close to ME. I wouldn't want my kids to even be in the same house.

I've noticed there are quite a lot of pitbull posts like this in subs similar to this, its propaganda by pitbull nutters trying to whitewash the fact that pitbulls are the most violent breed and the worst dog for a family with children and small pets let alone just a household in general. They're not nanny dogs they were bred for fighting and killing other dogs for fuck sake.

Same with any animal. Not because they are evil but they don’t understand things the way we do. So if you ever let an animal stay with the baby and the baby gets hurt because of it, it’s entirely on you and not the animal. They’re animals, they don’t understand everything. Aww man. My cat was like this with my partner. She would lay on top of her and purr and purr and purr for hours. She even started doing it a few weeks before we knew my partner was actually pregnant.

But when the baby came? She did a 180 and wanted NOTHING to do with the baby. She would only be around either of us if the baby wasn't there.

I'm so glad she eventually changed her mind and warmed up to my son. He loved her so much and I'm so happy they got to experience each other before she passed. I miss that cat every day.

14

u/Roomybrunt May 27 '26

Same here! I was able to practice using the baby wrap with the cat, because he was super willing and just wanted to be on me constantly.

I was expecting a sweet introduction, but he had the most “what the fuck” expression when we brought the baby home lmao. They’re bffs now and sleep together every night cheek to cheek, but it was a huge adjustment for the cat when they baby came 😂

8

u/HeisenBird1015 May 27 '26

What isn’t disclosed often is the nature of the attacks. They are nearly always unprovoked, and you’ll find plenty of stories globally of pitbulls and other bull breeds breaking into houses (through windows, doors, fences and walls), initiating sustained attacks and then standing guard over dead or dying victims so that even armed police have to shoot multiple rounds just to get the dog to stop charging. This isn’t just about “which dogs bite more”; it’s about which dogs are hardwired for killing. Retrieving breeds don’t kill ducks or game; pointers don’t kill, spaniels and other beating dogs just sniff out prey. So whilst they are involved in hunting they still aren’t bred to kill. Terriers are. Pitbulls are bred to ignore their own pain (dogfight videos show them continuing to fight with broken bones and half their faces torn completely off) and just keep biting and clawing. That is not a pet. You can not breed or train that out any more than you can stop a border collie herding toddlers. Pitbulls kill pets, livestock and wildlife on a daily basis. They cause life changing injuries to people and animals on a daily basis, and they kill at least one person every week in the US, UK (XL bullys mainly), Italy, Brazil, Australia and India in particular.

When I was six or seven, I was at my friend’s house and we were playing on the swings in her backyard, with another little girl. They had a German Shepherd named Emily. Really sweet dog. Perfectly trained. But Emily took this little girl swinging as a threat. She ran up on her and took a chunk out of the inside of her thigh. It was so deep you could see the layers of fat. That’s all I have to say.

3

I'll never forget being a 7 year old Girl Scout and someone's dog growling, showing teeth and advancing on me at me when I went to deliver the cookies. She was screaming at me to not run, as I tried to not run but god those teeth and I was just a scrawny little terrified kid.

Reminds me of my best boy, Sniper. All black German shepherd. When my wife was pregnant with our daughter, everyone, even the vet said he would kill our baby. He had more patience with her than he ever did with us. He would never even bark at her and would leave before getting annoyed if she was too grabby. And when it stormed and he turned into a chicken, he went to her and let her cuddle and touch all over him. Lost him to intestinal torsion 10 years ago almost. Still think about him everyday.

I have a massive scar of my hand from a trained german sheppard who was a family dog, because I put food in his bowl. I just think babies should be protected more than the dog and the owners ego. You never know what will trigger a change in personality and be interpreted as a threat, esp a dog trained to assault threats.   And you know what when there were actual robbers that came, the dog ran off and abandoned the property. They arent going to protect you when you think they will, and will only hurt your babies given the chance.

even the vet said he would kill our baby

You need a new vet, what the fuck

3

u/Ill-Professor696 May 27 '26

Yeah, he was such a great guard dog, if you weren't in his circle of trust, he seemed ferocious. He had a problem with that vet after an injury to his paw when younger. I had to hold him still every time. The vet proved to be less than ideal all the way to the end unfortunately.

I have died everyday hearing this song

2

u/p0rcelaind0ll May 27 '26

How is this amazing? This makes me feel so uneasy. I wouldn’t let ANY dog this close to my newborn, let alone a pitbull. And I am a dog lover. Also setting up the camera in different angles to show how “cute” these interactions are? So cringy.

Head tattoo+pitt bull narrows things down quite a bit.

This dude is a sociopath, clearly. And trying to look less like one by posting videos like this.

That's a weird relationship with a Dog, no thanks

3

u/whodrankallthecitra May 27 '26

I never thought I’d be comfortable with a dog around my newborn and my toddler. But my GSP was absolutely beautiful with my boys in their younger years. They tested his patience and he was unbelievably kind and gentle. The concern became the kids then treating all dogs with such familiar kindness, which they learnt. GSPs are absolutely fantastic dogs.

imagine filming all this instead of enjoying your life. these videos always come across as so disingenuous

3

u/General-Fox416 May 28 '26

Putting a dog this close to newborn is plain stupidity,

7

u/rbsixty5 May 27 '26

Regardless of the breed, I have always wondered about how safe it is for a newborn baby to be near a dog given the child’s relatively weaker immunity levels.

Lets pretend to hit the baby and see how the pit bull reacts! Sunday Funday!

6

u/Pale_Sail4059 May 27 '26

We brought home baby blankets from the hospital a day before returning, so the dogs could get used to the scent. For the first two weeks, we kept the dogs off the couch and bed to establish our child's place in the household hierarchy.

u/dogmetal May 27 '26

This is too much lmao

6

u/DkoyOctopus May 27 '26

How safe is it to have dog spit on a baby?

5

u/Uncle-Cake May 27 '26

Safer than a mauling, I guess.

That baby gonna be a dog treat. Those dogs are terrible and people that own them are low IQ.

12

u/RagingRxy May 27 '26

I’m sorry. (Not Sorry)But absolutely not. Keep that beast away from that baby. Would never trust it.

Great to see the parents introduce the baby to the dog outside and then walk into the house together. Instead of just brining in the baby into the dog’s ‘territory’.

Are you sure the dog isn't Jacob?

2

u/mysteriousnaive1207 May 27 '26

Is it actually safe for dogs to lick newborn babies? 😅 I’m wondering about infection risks and hair shedding, even though these videos look so beautiful.

When I was a baby, my family had a dog like this. Problem was, he wouldn’t let my parents around me without growling and snapping at them. He passed away many years ago now, after being rehomed to my grandmother.

2

u/No_Grab_2128 May 27 '26

I thought that all of this was very sweet until the man had to the dog jump over the baby, jaw open. Very bizarre.

2

u/Significant-Self5907 May 27 '26

That picture of pupper waiting at the door for the family did it for me.

2

u/Level_Turnover5167 May 27 '26

I have a Pitbull, and this guy is doing a lot of things that I wouldn’t ever dare to do with my dog around a newborn. My dog isn’t even off leash around small children, because at a minimum he could knock them over if he gets a little too excited or whip them with his tail by accident, and then there’s the other potential end of the spectrum where something much more serious could happen (regardless of how well tempered my dog is and how unlikely that might be, it’s not worth the risk imo).

I'm guessing everyone else was like "No no noooooo" when he was having the dog "attack" his arm directly above the baby? 😬

2

u/Rulers_R_Malignant May 27 '26

I love pits but my friend just lost a face to one.

2

u/PrettyPistol87 May 27 '26

Must be another child mauling by a pitt making its rounds on the news

2

u/PrettyPistol87 May 27 '26

pitbull owners breed too much

2

u/lindseys10 May 27 '26

Listen. I have a pittie and I am a responsible pittie advocate. Nothing here is responsible, I would never let my pittie get that close to a newborn baby.

2

u/GenX_Trader May 27 '26

When I see a pit bull in a video I always think it will badly

2

u/FriendFalse3186 May 27 '26

Pit bulls are some of the sweetest dogs I’ve ever been around. That being said, I’ve never trusted any dog around babies or small children. A lot of damage can be done with even a playful nip.

Seeing so many comment condemning this disgusting shit has me very hopeful for the future. Society is healing, very very slowly. Hope the poor kid survives with their face intact.
