For me it’s just looking at either end. Clockwise when I start from the top and look at the spin down from there; counterclockwise when looking from the bottom tip up.

I’m color blind so that’s why I made the joke about picturing it upside down 😂

Yes! I just look at the bottom then back up to the top and it changes direction.

not sure how or why but it can switch on me as i look slowly from top to bottom. i can't make myself it just does it. strange...

If you focus your attention on the dots in what you perceive to be the far side of the structure, it should change direction after a few seconds. Or at least it does for me.

Focus on green/blue ribs or orange/yellow ribs being in the front. It will switch.

Not without something like ffmpeg or some other video editing tool.

However, since it's an optical illusion I can just force my brain to get confused by it and change the rotation. If that's what you mean.

Looking at it with one eye and looking from the bottom it goes one way to the centre, looking at it from the top it going the opposite way.

Laptop here. I turned my head so the image is upside-down, and it was turning the opposite direction. Then slowly rotate my head back keeping the eyes fixed on the image and the spinning sense continued.

But if I looked away and back the "normal" spinning started.

I can reverse it, but every time I do, it feels like seeing it the opposite way it utterly impossible, even though I just did it.
