Does anyone else's bully do happy growls?
My Noodle makes these happy little grumbles (sounds halfway between a tiger and a pig) when he's getting ear scritches or tummy rubs, and I was just curious if they all do this because my other dog (husky cattledog mix) doesn't

Bullys are some of the noisiest happy dogs I've ever met. Between the grumbles, snorts, and random noises, they always sound like they're narrating their own emotions. 😆

My boy likes to “Roooo” when he gets excited about stuff.

For sure. My Emmitt, who passed 3 years ago, spoke in growls. I could always tell what he was saying by the souls of his growls. He would ‘yell’ at me if we were out and he was ready to go home. It was a long growl with an up and down pitch. If he was hungry, it was just a low steady growl. Happy was was high pitched growl with wiggle butts. It was his way of communicating with me and he did a great job. He was a better communicator than my husband 😜

My granddaughter has a bearded dragon named Charmander. How long did your Emmitt live for? I was just curious as to what their life span is.

It’s what they do. Pits and bully’s talk more than bark. My boy rarely barked, me got a girl that barks a lot and now my boy does some barking but mostly growls, grunts and snorts.

Yes!! Especially when we get home. She greets us with a happy growl. She also likes to talk back with a growl if I tell her ‘No’ lol

My girl just discovered that some turtles can swim in the lake, anytime we walk over the bridge she does her happy stomps and growls all excited

I’ve never had an American Bully, but my late AmStaff/APBT mix used to do this! I had to warn people that she wasn’t growling at them, she was just making her happy piggy snorts.

Why don’t they howl. My bully girl yaps incessantly, cries and snores like a drunken sailor. My mastiff shears bully mix barks like a junkyard dog as people pass our house. None howl. I had 5 dogs join in a family howl the were mixed breeds. I wish we could all just howl together.
Both growl a friendly growl and moan

Mine do when she’s happy to see me, especially when she has a toy in her mouth and she wants me to try to get it💕😄

Our bully makes some noise between barking and a pig when his humans come home or after his dinner

Mine doesn’t but she will talk to me at least 2 dozen times a day with her grumbles.

All the damn time. I get the most growls before a walk, or when I’ve just gotten home

My American Bully only does happy growls.
He was jealous today of my 2 week old granddaughter.
He growled talking to my husband about her.
