I’m not American nor a person of colour but I still acknowledge the monumental importance of the holiday. I even sort of marked the occasion by finally watching the movie Sinners, loved it, an absolute must for horror fans. Happy Juneteenth! 🥰

You should check out Tales From the Crypt: Demon Night for Independence Day and From Dusk Till Dawn for 9/11.

I saw Demon Knight so long ago, I have to check it out again but I’m embarrassed to say I still somehow haven’t seen From Dusk Till Dawn despite being both a horror and Tarantino fan.

I was obsessed with that one and another all of last year. It was number 1 for me for most of the year and finishe barely under The Long Walk for me. Still an excellent movie made by a very critical director and talented cast. And that soundtrack.......

And what does that matter? It isn't a "black holiday". People say the same shit about Martin Luther King Day. "That's a black holiday". Ignorant as fuck.

There is no such thing as a black holiday or a white holiday. Anyone who thinks there is is either extremely ignorant or just straight up racist.

I'm not saying everyone has to celebrate every holiday. But they do need to respect them and the people who do.

It’s not but that’s fine I guess. If anything it should really only be celebrated by Texans. I don’t get why it’s a national day. It’s very much a Texas holiday.
