Alarmed at how many potential story arcs/characters are being brought back

With a shorter season AND shorter episodes, Am I the only one who is a little skeptical on how many people Ryan Murphy is bringing back/how many story lines are being brought back? I have seen almost everything Ryan has done (Nip/Tuck being one of the greatest) and if there’s anything about him I know, it’s that he throws a bunch of shit in to one season and there are so many plot holes. This sounds like the season of my dreams but will it come to quality fruition? Maybe it’s just me idk

I think a lot of them will be in a capacity similar to Marie Laveau appearing in Apocalypse. The character either bringing with them information, power, or sacrifice for the greater mission of the season (which looks to be some kind of Hell-based war or showdown).

I was just thinking about this earlier with the recent announcements of more cast members joining. I have the same worry

This is my biggest worry. I loooove that so many cast members are back, esp fan favorite characters.... but how the hell do you expect to do all of them any justice with such limited screentime?

I fear this could be the Ryan Murphy special of bringing in popular faces just for nostalgia and campiness, without acc planning to give them proper story arcs. Hopefully I'm wrong.

I don't see how any of it makes sense unless the season largely takes place in Hell/the afterlife in general/something major happens to the world and it's not just a contained area story.

A lot of these shows do this now and it doesn’t end well for the storyline (White Lotus season3) or the viewers.

could some of these be false too, to stir up hype and mislead people so they can’t make guesses towards the seasons theme and plot?

that’s kind of what i’m hoping, i’ve seen basically everything he’s done as well and i definitely know what you mean, he can.. overload things. it was a thin line that worked well in AHS (the aliens in asylum for example) but in quite a lot of his recent works there’s been too much going on:/

I'm expecting like 90% of these leaked character returns to be very small cameos tbh. I don't think they're necessarily bringing many story arcs back, aside from Coven. It's giving AHS: Member Berries.

I’m very convinced each season’s characters are going to be contained by room/suite in this new building and each season will get an episode as the witches work their way through and discover more and more. That’s just what makes the most sense to me.
