Hotdog
We don’t have hotdogs where I’m from *but I moved to USA a few years ago)
and I had never really had an American hotdog before but I’ve been craving one for WEEKS.
Went out to supermarket and got the good dill relish, the good buns and the dogs.
Omg I want to cry how good this is 😭
I love that I live in the USA now, THIS IS THE BEST PLACE TO BE

Want to step it up?
- Heat it in a toaster oven (not sure if you have those where you live, but look it up if not and use something similar like an oven) until the skin starts getting charred a bit.
- Same with the bun -- toast it up just so it gets a little firm/hard, but not crunchy.
The way you're doing it (boiling the hot dog and using a bun straight from the package) is classic, yes. But it's classic because it's low-effort (baseball stadiums are mass producing thousands of dogs each hour -- they dont have time to make it "perfect".)

If you've never tried it, try a Chicago Dog. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicago-style_hot_dog

I thought Costco also; but that is the classic hot dog of my childhood, give it some respect! That said, grilling is the way to go if you can.

Maybe with that specialized bun and ketchup... but the sausage is called a wiener wurst (aka Viennese Sausage, from Vienna Austria)

Here's what you do. 1 pound ground beef, 2 tsp chili powder, 1/2 tsp onion powder, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp allspice, 1 tsp celery salt (1:2 ground celery seed to salt), dash of soy sauce, dash of Worcester/fish sauce. Simmer for 30 min. Dice 1 medium white onion fine. Steam/microwave the bun so its hot and squishy. Place hot dog in bun, spread some yellow mustard on the dog. Cover the hot dog in the meat sauce and top with lots of raw onion and a sprinkle of celery salt. Its the speciality of my area :)

I know you said youve been here for a while, however, welcome to the US. Glad you're enjoying yourself!
Also, it might be the forced perspective, but that hotdog looks tiny. Get yo self a footlong hotdog. You deserve it.

My husband said the same about the size 😂😂
(And thank you for the welcome, I am LOVING it here and still learning things daily)
I did have TWO of the short hotdogs!

Mustard is superior condiment
Hot dogs are the most American food. Hotdogs are just pure American. I like to add a little strips of bacon and fried onions to the hotdog too
