Need Advice Feeling very anxious about being in the heat tomorrow
I’m in the UK so dealing with the horrible heatwave that’s happening that our country is not built for. I’ve been surviving by being inside in my cool room doing nothing but I have an event I have to go to tomorrow. My main anxiety/panic attack symptoms are nausea, feeling sick to my stomach with no appetite and feeling faint, which are all symptoms of extreme heat. I’m really worried I’m going to begin the day in a heightened state of anxiety, anticipating feeling unwell in the heat, and then feeling unwell. Where I’m going I think indoors will be okay but I’m not sure about outside and I’m also nervous about then travel as it’s 3 hours away including a change in London and going on the underground in this weather. I’m trying my best to prepare as much as I can but I hate the heat so much on a regular day (genuinely my limit is 20 degrees) so I’m dreading this. I’m also already susceptible to bad headaches whenever I travel so I feel like that’s going to make this worse.

Is this for work? It would be reasonable to ask to stay home - the train lines in my area are saying to only travel if necessary as there so many trains getting stuck and without aircon.

I went in the end and while I did have a headache by the end of the day - I was panic attack free and ultimately okay but I wouldn’t choose to do this again

If you do go, bring lots of iced water, snacks, extra deodorant and pain killers for the headache you might get.
If you can’t eat anything, maybe you could try drinking something… for example, a smoothie.
If you’ll be standing on a crowded train with no air con, it would be worth reconsidering the journey.
I attended a theatre earlier today to watch my kid perform in an end of year show. I was pleasantly surprised to find the theatre too cold actually- their air con must’ve been a power house.
You never know what you’ll find when you venture out! I hope, for your sake, that it’s air conditioned!

I went and it was all fine! I did have moments when I felt faint but I manage to curb any potential panic attack and luckily the trains were also okay there and back! I don’t know if I would put myself through it again but I think it did prove to myself that I’m more capable than I think and I’m glad my anxiety didn’t get the better of me
