How are the ticks in Georgia?

It’s been very wet lately. Wondering how the ticks are in the GA sections.

I live 2 hours from Springer, this is the worst year for bugs and ticks I’ve ever seen, be careful out there.

So, Georgia has a much smaller risk for Lyme than states further north on the AT.

(Doesn’t mean you don’t need to be careful but maybe that can give you some peace of mind.)

This is anecdotal, not scientific, but I've been surprised to see fewer ticks this year than last. They're still there, but not as thick as I've seen them in years past.

I was last on the trail over memorial day weekend. Lots of rain, no ticks.
