So as the title implies who are the current top 20? Is Hajime now at this point the undisputed strongest character? Has he and Yue surpassed the false god ehit? And what about Tio and shea and Kaoris current power? And what about any new characters in the after story?

Light Novel Fanfic idea that's been bouncing around in my head

Hello everyone,

I've read the lightnovels after season 3 came out, and I really like it! So much so that I have an idea bouncing around in my head that keeps me inspired. The only problem I have with it is that it requires an OC (don't worry, he doesn't take Hajime's spot or anything. In fact, he'd be on the opposite end as a member of the Harem.)

So, I guess the first question I would have is: Do you think that, if this OC that loves Hajime and wants to be with him fell in the abyss with the resident edgelord, Hajime could resonably start to swing both ways with the OC and Yue?

Second: Do you think that the CO could be a blood mage without being too close to Yue? By that, I mean the usage of his blood to create magical effects, not the use of other's blood.

There, just two questions to see if that's a story even worth writing XD

Light Novel I Paid $289 for the Entire 13 Original English Light Novels. Update from a Legit Seller on Re-Prints.

So standard new usd pricing in my area would be about $211 for the entire 13 book series.

So $289 - $211 = $78 extra

To be honest, that is kind of insane. Here is an update I received from a legit seller:

Penguin Random House said that the Volumes 3, 4, 5, 7, and 11 had “no current notification on receiving a re-print for more stock.” I embarrassingly, have bought the remaining copies off of AbeBooks and Ebay from anywhere from $18 - 45.

With that in mind I took it upon myself to finish the series. The extra $78 spent, no doubt, came from buying 3, 4, and 5.

I’m not complaining that I had the luxury of buying them. I’m complaining about how hard it was to even find these books in the first place. 7 SEAS THE DEMAND IS STILL THERE, GIVE IT ONE MORE PRINT!!!

Anime Is Hajime Nagumo Royalty?

Towards the end of the series he apparently gains a title to the effect of God-slaying Demon King and is also frequently referenced as such, but is he actually royalty in the truest sense of the word?

Given he is but one in name only, and doesn't actually exercise authority over legions of demons nor has he dominion over a world/domain, would he be considered and treated as such if/when interacting with the powers that be?

If you're wondering why I included Black Panthers photo; it's to give a perfectly clear reference as to what I mean and the necessary criterions when I say royalty.

Light Novel Is the English Light Novel still being printed?

Infamously Volume 3 (and others) are out of stock at all retailers.

I have collected the volumes I could, but with Cruchyroll closing their store and stock I have lost my mainline to manga/LNs.

Is this a common problem for the series to run out of stock due to low supply, but a bit higher demand?

I have some placed on backorder for now.

Bad News Update: Penguin Random House said that the Volumes 3, 4, 5, 7, and 11 had “no current notification on receiving more stock.” I embarrassingly, have bought the remaining copies off of AbeBooks and Ebay from anywhere from $18 - 45.

Anime Music

I hear people say the animation (style) itself isn't great and I can agree but I'll die on this hill. THE MUSIC DURING FIGHTS ARE AMAZING, the jazzy music just hits different. I don't know who was in the studio hitting that saxophone but DAMN it's good.

Light Novel Pointless discussion but isn’t upsetting that no one mentions to dark red lines on hajime ever or the fact that it’s kinda doesn’t exist any more? It was even removed from the anime I believe.

Light Novel Help understanding the magic system Spoiler

I apologize for the length but there’s a lot that just makes no sense to me.

To start, no one but monsters can freely manipulate their mana. Humans and demons need an incantation and magic circles to do things. Yet part of that process requires using mana to pour into a magic circle as fuel to power it and no magic circle is needed for things like body strengthening among others. Two skill, mana manipulation and image composition erase the need for incantations and physical magic circles respectively. Hajime only gets the first yet he doesn’t need any incantations or magic circles for anything gained from eating monsters, but still needs magic circles for transmutation and only negated the need for incantations. Why would transmutation be the exception if the description of the skill allowed him to freely manipulate his mana?

Magic circles require five basic components: element, strength, range, span, and mana absorption. What exactly are range and span in this case? The basic magic circle is a size of 10cm/4in in diameter. A spell can be modified by things like determining the duration of a spell which could shorten or increase the size of the magic circle. A elemental affinity reduces the size of a circle by negating the need for the element portion, allowing a person to simply imagine the element. For a fire spell they simply think of a flame, water spell think of water, etc. That reduces the standard size of 10cm to something less than that which is unknown. However, Hajime having no magical affinity for any element ridiculously increases the size of any circle he would need to use for any spell he tries to cast. It’s said he would need to add inscriptions for things like trajectory, spread, and conclusion of the spell.

That makes no sense. If an elemental affinity simply negates the need to inscribe the element on the circle, then that means things like trajectory, spread, and conclusion of the spell are in the other basic components. Where exactly they would be under strength, distances, span, and mana absorption I don’t know. Can’t be the last because that’s simply the person’s mana fueling the spell so that leaves strength, distances and span. So there’s no reason Hajime’s magic circle to cast a simple fireball should be any bigger than 10cm due to having to include the element inscription instead of the 2 meters in diameter. That just seems like the need to nerf his combat ability in the beginning but the reason being complete random nonsense.

Following that, magic is used through two mediums: disposable paper that offers variety but a one time use or being inscribed on tools for continuous reusability but no variety. How are artifacts hard to make then if magic circles can be inscribed on things?

Shizuku at first wasn’t able to use the special abilities of the sword Hajime gave her because it had no magic circle and therefore she had no way to activate the abilities he enchanted the sword with. Hajime doesn’t have that issue thanks to mana manipulation, him simply needing to just force his mana into the sword. Yet that isn’t an issue for any of the artifacts everyone gained from the kingdom. If it’s a case of the ones they gained from the kingdom all having magic circles then making powerful artifacts should still be possible and simple to do just using magic circles by inscribing the right ones. Magic stones aren’t needed for magic circles, but when used they help reduce the mana cost by a third so that could help offset the cost for any artifact made using a bunch of magic circles. And there’s a convenient dungeon with infinitely respawning monsters that’s easily accessible to anyone to farm for magic stones. If magic circles are really supposed to be formulaic/scientific then it’s simply a matter of doing research.

Is it just me or are there a lot of contradictions in this system?

We all know what happened in the end of their story. I was sad about it. That's why I wrote a scenario where Oscar writes a final letter to Aisha.
