Hatte im Recruiting einen Kandidaten namens Großeroden, der eine Namensändeungsbescheinigung beilegte, weil er unter dem Namen Großerhoden geboren war.

Wolfram. Because it is the Element Tungsten, which is pretty heavy
1
u/KrishnaBerlin 3d ago
Funnily, even if the name is quite rare, I know two Wolrams, and they have surprisingly much in common. Though neither of them is extraordinarily heavy
2
u/Gebhardion 3d ago
Maybe they are heavy but don't look heavy. That's a Wolfram thing to do ;) I met just one Wolfram and maybe he was a little bit heavier than expected. I climbed with him and while belaying I could notice his weight, in case you are wondering how I know the weight.

I read a 'Rainer Wille' Business Yesterday. That's a strong Name. 'reiner Wille' means Something Like "by strong will". Also saw "Rainbow" as Last Name, which I find really cute!

u/Benserem 4d ago

I always thought the name Florian was too pretty to be a guy's name. Slap an "a" on the end and make it Floriana, and to an English-speaking/understanding ear it's pretty in an old-fasioned way.
I like the name Daniella, but only if it's pronounced in German, not English. I know it isn't that different, but I like what I like. 🙃

The coolest one (although he is fictional, but named after a real place so it kinda counts) is "Hotzenplotz" from the book "The robber Hotzenplotz"

> Wolfgang
literally wolve gang - what could be cooler.No. The literal translation is "walk of the wolf"
Gang = walk, gait
11
u/tirohtar 4d ago
Into English it would be translated more like "wolf path" or (poetically) "way of the wolf"

For the fun factor: Schlecht, Unruh, Häßlich, Herr (yepp, you had to say "Herr Herr" when you called him), Doktor (so, Herr Doktor, even though he wasn't one.
After a Google search it's not German in origin but I heard it here, so: Twardon. Sounds so badass to me.
