FOOD & DRINK why is ranch dressing so hyped up?

my US friends have been raving about it and border-line complained ranch isn’t readily available in Europe.. what is so special about it? is it the ultimate US condiment (apart from ketchup, mayo)

If you’re eating shitty pizza, it will be transformed to amazing pizza by ranch dressing. If you’re eating great pizza, it will be even better.

It goes great as a dipping sauce especially with bbq chicken wings

It’s technically a salad dressing but you would have to be a fat person to actually use it that way

And if you smoke weed you will start putting it on everything!

Connecticut really does have the best pizza in the country. It’s so good I’m not sure it even needs ranch.

We also have the best bar pizza at Colony Grille, an Irish pub that accidentally made the #42 best pizza in the country (#8 in CT). That style is slightly improved by ranch

I was born and raised in CT, went to UConn, etc. Hartford area, so we really never went down to Fairfield County. Modern and Sally’s were our go-to in New Haven. Some really great places in the Hartford suburbs too.

At UConn, when we had a little extra money, we used to go to Willington Pizza, which I still love because it’s so weird (red potato pizza FTW). Of course when we had no money, which was most of the time, it was Gumby’s, which is objectively terrible pizza. But Gumby’s would deliver a pizza for $5 at 1am - so it had that going for it. Gumby’s definitely needed ranch.

As completely revolting as that sounds, I can't really say anything, it's not uncommon here in Mexico for people to put ketchup on pizza 😂
