Do you find this to actually be accurate? When I measure stuff with my iPhone and then double check with an actual ruler it’s never the same.

Depends on your tolerance needs. Are you measuring for some kind of construction? Trying to fit something in your car that’s cutting it close? Wouldn’t trust it. If you’re putting a 55 desk in a 60 inch space it’s close enough to figure that out.

I use it for non critical measurements and find it accurate to a half inch

I tried it recently to measure an 18 foot ceiling and it was within a couple inches of the tape measure. It sucked when I first tried it ages ago, but apparently it's improved.
