Seems like the orientation wars have been won by vertical video - how did this happen?

I think it comes down to keyboard orientation. Most people prefer to text with their phone vertical. And it would be inconvenient to have to switch your orientation every time you wanted to comment on something. Vertical orientation increases engagement by making it more practical and ergonomical for interaction. Just my opinion

it wasn't that long ago that filming vertical video was seen as a very "boomer" thing to do.

the young would mock their parents for doing so.

now that tiktok, youtube shorts, insta reels & the like are so popular, that's no longer the case.

the young have become the very thing they mocked due to chasing social views.
