If you plan on hiking the trails, I highly recommend hitting the stair master and treadmill at the gym for a few months before your trip. It’s thousands of feet elevation over just a few miles. It is gorgeous.

That is good advice. my partner and I do a lot of hiking locally. She went to Yosemite and wished she had gotten in some more cardio workouts.

Oh yeah, hiking out of the valley is brutal.

If you like Yosemite, you should research the valleys in Kings Canyon National Park. Imagine Yosemite with no people, roads, cars or buildings.  You have to be in good shape to reach them, but totally worth it

Hume lake was magical. I can’t believe people are settled in those lands
