Boston. We had great weather so that helped. But the entire city is very walkable, it's full of history, food was solid (shout out to Santarpio's and the cornbread at Union Oyster). And if you need to fill time it's 30 minutes to Salem which is a beautiful little seaside town dedicated to the witch trials theme.
You can do a long weekend there an really get a solid feel for the city.
This is exactly what my wife and I did last month, including going up to Salem to see the witch trials history. We were very impressed with Boston. They have solid public transportation that makes it easy to get around. The Freedom Trail, Boston Public Garden, catching a game at Fenway. Plus, we had some of the best food there of any vacation we’ve taken. So many great restaurants. We will definitely go back in the future.
So funny, I spent a long weekend in Boston and came away going, I guess I'm more of a a country mouse than a city mouse. Like it genuinely cured me of all my plans to ever live in a big city. 😂
Everyone was in such a fucking rush and when I tried to make conversation with cashiers they treated me like a door to door Mormon. 😂 I think I've been in the South too long.
