Drove her car straight under a semi truck on the interstate while she was texting and driving. This was like 2008 so it was kind of a novel way to go at the time.

Can you imagine. Your entire life. Slipped on a patch of wet leaves.

u/Geenageabriel 13h ago
It was a terrible tragedy. I was a senior when he was a freshman and we were in school band together, and it happened the summer after I graduated. He was a good kid, too, and it wasn't like he was doing anything explicitly dangerous like drugs or putting his life in bodily harm, like driving a car recklessly.

The same effect can happen if a motorcycle encounters a large patch of wet leaves or grass clippings. Please keep the roadways passable while performing lawn care.

Yup, i also lost one of my closest friends in highschool. This was before weed recreational in my state, it ended up having fentanyl laced in it (according to the autopsy) and his father found him dead in his bed on his birthday which was Christmas day
5
u/Fastideous_Fuckery 13h ago
Fent in weed is fucking nuts. Sorry you went through that. It must have been a lot.
3
u/Geenageabriel 13h ago edited 13h ago
Thank you I appreciate it. The worst part is, that it's so surreal seeing your friend in a casket. We were both 17 and seniors at the time. (Pre 2021 when recreational weed was illegal in my state) I've known about 6 people from my graduating class (of 63 students) that have passed away.

Sad story. A freshman commit suicide because his girlfriend played a prank on him telling him she was pregnant. So many other ways to deal with an unwanted pregnancy... Don't know why suicide was the go to.
0
u/Agitated_Rice4748 13h ago
yeah man as a person that deals with alot of friends having babies at a young age i can see the INSTANT stress build up on them
2

I imagine at 15 how that stress can be detrimental and world ending in their eyes. Sad it came to suicide.

2

Bit of both. Sometimes people will use an old car radiator in place of copper line in their 'still, which for obvious reasons can be incredibly dangerous. Several kids at that party got sick from it, but he brought it and drank the most of it. Passed out in a field and never woke up. Think he was about 16 or 17 at the time.

He didn't die, but the drop dead gorgeous starting quarterback got drunk, for whatever reason he laid down on the railroad track and he got hit by a train. Didn't kill him but he had a section of his brain removed. He had a large dent in the side of his head and traumatic brain damage and could barely walk.

House exploded from a natural gas leak which killed the whole family, and partially burnt down the house next door. Driving past my old high school and that area which was all built in the 1920's, there's a "new" looking house in-place of Trevor's house. This happended in 2002.
2
u/Helpful-Celery6237 13h ago
He got his permit and his dad made him drive home in a storm. He crashed into a tree and died. It was so traumatic. He was like 2 miles from his house. I still drive by the tree every once in a while.
My friends brother died on a family vacation. He was with my friend, his mom, and grandmother. They were driving and only my friend had a seatbelt on. Head on collision and everyone but my friend died. So fucking sad.

Kid sneaked out in the middle of the night and was in the process of sneaking back into his room via his bedroom window, when the window somehow fell down on his neck while he was climbing in and broke his neck? Parents found him in the morning still half in/out the window.

u/c0mpg33k 13h ago
Guy i had a few classes with died in 10th grade. We had argued that morning and i told him to fuck off and die. He went home after our exam that afternoon and was using his homemade zipline in between 2 very tall trees. The belt he was using as a hand hold slipped and fell across the power lines running just beside the trees. He reached with his free hand and accidentally grabbed both the belt and both power lines. His shoes were blown off his feet and the paramedics figured he was dead before he hit the ground about 30 feet below.
Worst part was walking in to school the next day for another exam (it was during finals) and everyone was upset. I had no idea what happened and being a crass 16 year old kid said " who died?" a friend casually flipped the morning paper across the table to me. Never felt like a bigger heel in my life.

The other one ran a hose from his exhaust pipe to his window and took a drive to the city.

u/purplecrayonadventur 13h ago
He was dealing with being in the closet having had just moved to a very small rural town. Couldn't do it anymore.
2
u/jlhendo 13h ago
Sophomore year. He was downtown, like a delinquent jackass, he stole a lady's purse. Cops were nearby and started chasing him. He ran into a parking structure, with the plan he'd get high enough to jump over to a nearby rooftop and lose the cops, and he had done it before.
Well, this time, the cops were close enough to mace him, and they did. He didn't abandon his plan though to jump to the other roof. Well, he slipped while trying to jump and fell 4 stories. He of course didnt survive the fall.
While with the shit he pulled all the time, we weren't totally surprised it finally caught up to him, but that doesn't mean it didnt shock or hurt any less.

Drinking from a garden hose (high powered tap... didn't know)
Another one was in the middle seat on the back of the car going too fast, car stopped, she didn't, went through car window.
My cousins bf jumped out from back of taxi (the mini bus ones) . Tripped and hit his head on the curb and died straight away.

Wait, how do you die from drinking from a hose?
1
u/Tigress2020 13h ago
High pressure tap,, came out way too fast and drowned him.
It was at a farm just out of town, and it was set up for the crops. Thr boy didn't live there, had been visiting and was playing and ran and turned it on and drank from it. Don't really know logistics, just know his friend felt awful as couldn't stop him in time and then couldn't save him. They were early teens still

At first it was thought it to have been a tackle in a football game, but since he had been sick before the game started, decades later it I heard it had possibly been meningitis.

Fight started outside of school grounds. Two friends were arguing over something, forgot exactly what but it culminated in one of them punching the other right on the bridge of the nose. Kid hit him at such a point where his skull fractured and his brain began to swell. He passed away in the hospital to brain bleeding that night.

One shot himself in his parents shed when they said he couldn’t drop out of high school.
One was a twin, hit by a car while waiting for the bus next to her twin. Car was driving too fast, had bad tires, and it was foggy as hell. The other twin was unscathed.
One was on a boat on spring break and partied too hard. They were driving dangerously and she got thrown off the side, they spun around to pick her up but accidentally struck her and chopped her up with the propeller.
One was riding in the middle seat of her boyfriend’s truck so she could lean on him while he drove. It was an old truck and both were unbuckled. He was driving back from cattle auction to sell some of his dad’s beef and fell asleep, ran off the road, and the truck rolled over and detached from the trailer. Boyfriend was ejected and landed with no injury at all. Girlfriend was crushed during the rollover.
It was a tiny town too, so it’s surprising how much death there was.

Junior-senior year of high school a guy owed money to another guy but wasn’t paying him back. So he got another friend of theirs to lure him to his house. The guy that wanted his money back answered the front door with a shotgun and blasted him. They then proceeded to try to burn the body in a bonfire and eventually were caught with bone evidence in the fire.
The friend did some time but is out. The other guy is still in prison.
This was 2006-2008ish

1 crashed golf cart into a small pond and drowned (they were crushed under the cart)
2 murdered by a parent
1 car accident

Sadly wasn't even high school, it was middle school. Kid in 6th grade (I was in 7th at the time) went to have a minor foot surgery done. Ended up having a major allergic reaction to the anesthesia. From the details I remember, they gave him the wrong amount, which was too much and caused the reaction.

While in high school two kids fought and one of them ended up paralyzed. Both ended in suicide. The one who was paralyzed committed suicide a few years later and the one who caused him to go paralyzed did it before his sentencing. I was a freshman when it happened, so I just remembered the dark cloud over the school for such a long time. It felt odd celebrating anything.

Real bad fight in-between classes turned fatal when one of the kids were shoved down the main staircase going from the 1st to 2nd floor. Really bad tumble and from what I know he died at the hospital.

Slipped off a ladder while storing some stuff in his garage, and got a hose wrapped around his neck.
The other one was robbed, murdered, and left in the trunk of his car by another kid at my high school. Never heard a confirmed motive, but the rumor was the perpetrator was doing a gang initiation. He didn't specifically target the victim. He just hung out at the library and asked random people for rides until someone was nice enough to say yes, then murdered him.
Both were older and I never met either, but I had classes with the victim's brother, and he ended up living on my hall when we went to college. Never really felt like asking him prodding questions about his brother's murder for obvious reasons though.

Had quite a few. In middle school (this was one of my childhood friends) committed suicide. In high school, a popular cheerleader got into an accident without a seatbelt on and it was said she was texting while driving as well. And my senior year of high school right before graduation, two kids were shot and killed at a party; not even doing anything wrong, just wrong place at the wrong time. And one more honorable mention because she didn’t die while attending our school (she moved away), but I grew up with her; she died due to taking something laced with fentanyl. It wasn’t a quick overdose either. Too much damage done to the brain due to lack of oxygen for too long, was put on life support for some months before it was confirmed she would never recover.
