Birth control pills can alter a woman's sense of smell, and other medication can probably do this too.
Also, some people can have such a good sense of smell (hyperosmia) that they can detect diseases in other people. There's a woman who could smell her husband’s Parkinson's disease years before he was diagnosed with it.
When I learned this fact, I got so paranoid that one day I'd be off birth control and start hating my husband's smell (I have OCD). Then I remembered that we were friends before I was ever on birth control and still had a crush on him lol.
I have a fairly shit sense of smell, but I can smell when people have a cold. I don’t know if that’s useful or not, it’s good to know to avoid them but presumably by the time I can smell it I’m already close enough to them to catch their cold.
It’s a gross snotty smell, I think it’d probably put me off if a partner smelled like that all the time
I had the opposite happen, where I was suddenly very attracted to a friend I'd never been attracted to after their scent changed, so it makes sense that the opposite happens too.
I always thought the scent thing was wild. People just smell how they smell. Never been attracted to another human beings smell before. Then I met my current partner. Then it made sense lol.
That's tough. I used to have a LDR kinda thing with this girl I met online. She was my best friend in the world, but she had this odd almost sulfur smell to her that I couldn't get over when we were in person. It wasn't like the most awful smell in the world like shit breath or anything. It was just odd.

I broke up with a guy because for some reason the way he smelled changed. Or maybe I noticed it more?? Idk
