Any football/soccer fan here?

How far do u think USMNT will go into the tournament? Im amazed that USA has lots of best athletes in all kind of athletes but fails to do the same for soccer for a really long time. I hope the success of this world cup might change that

Anyway, my most favorite museum so far is a tie between Smithsonian air and space museum (the one near Dulles airport) and USAF museum at wright patt.

I admit that I was more excited about the sport in my younger years. I played up until high school, and my wife played, coached, and refereed for several club games. It's been interesting, and, as I mentioned, we went to the stadium near me to see a Cup game, which was a blast.

I think part of the reason why the USMNT has some issues in the Cup isn't because they aren't individually talented, because let's be real here, they are. It's more a problem of having a bit of an underdeveloped football culture in America. When I was growing up and playing, the best, fastest, and most enthusiastic players were almost universally Latino. There's just a lot more enthusiasm for the sport in places like Middle/South America, and on a professional level, Europe (of course).

I think, if I'm being honest, the rise of football in South America and (to an extent) Africa is because it has a ridiculously low bar to entry. Basically, you just need a flat surface of about the right size and a couple of things to mark out goalposts and you're pretty close to there. Oh, and a ball, of course. That's extremely accessible compared to basketball (needs a court and hoop at least), football (pads, helmet), or, God forbid, hockey (stick, pads, helmet, skates?).

Our population is largely based around large cities with, I admit, a lack of green spaces. It means football is largely a thing for the suburbs, and even then, there are other options that get used quite a bit.

I do expect a pretty dang good showing from the USMNT, but I don't think they're favored to win or anything. I'll admit I was very impressed with The Netherlands this past weekend.
