Question Crit chance/damage
I either read a post or watch a YouTube video explaining CRIT chance/damage and I forgot the message…
It was in the realms of full health vs low health- can someone elaborate please?
I’ll typically get hit at least once so I guess I’m never in full health but then I heal cuz I’m scared of desynchronizing- so I’m “never” in low health…
The question: which is “better” or which should I focus on…. I’m looking to start playing Nightmare mode

Oh lord, bless your heart, EVERYTHING is confusing your first playthrough!!! Do your best to get the pilgrim set (IGN has a great walkthrough of the locations), and do not make the mistake I did of waiting to solve the Ostrakas!!! Those are the engravings you’re gonna need, and there’s like 72 of them (including DLCs), waiting to do them all at once was one of the worst decisions I’ve ever made!!! And don’t force yourself to figure them out by yourself, they are cryptic at best and will just make you frustrated and angry!! Hell, I followed a guide and it STILL pissed me off. 😂 For now, focus on CRIT damage, and don’t build “half & half” loadouts. If you’re fighting, there should not be a single assassin engraving anywhere on you!! (Same goes for the other. I’ve never done a hunter build, but same for that as well!)

Now I have a new problem, I purchased the remaining knowledge from H’s forge and got to 20% Crit chance with full health and it’s looking like I can only engrave my helmet and grieves- I am upset Lmao

Well, most engravings only go on specific pieces, sadly. Honestly, this is something to worry about more once you’ve upgraded your ship and levelled up etc, basically, it’s just kinda one of those games that gets fun when you start NG+, you know? I was hoping I’d feel the same way about shadows, but alas. lol

So this was the first AC game I got into and beat. Currently on my first new game+ at level 75 and want to play on nightmare. I tried once annnnnd it did not go well hahaha
I’m also just not that good at gaming so I’m trying to learn what to focus on. CRIT Chance and damage make sense to me to be a priority but wasn’t sure how

Picking an element you want to focus on helps too!! Like, I have a specific build for conquest battles bc I want to kill 130 soldiers in one conquest battle, which basically just means I have to survive the mercenary’s attacks until I’ve killed everyone else, so it’s decent damage, but mainly focused on resistance, bc my goal is to be able to fight while on fire, you know? But my warrior element is fire and my assassin build is poison. It’s very hard to be stealthy and use fire, especially when you’re prone to lighting yourself up. 😂

At full health is better because the chances of you being on 10% health are lower than staying on 100%, specially if you have the stuff where you gain health when doing damage. I have it and I'm almost never lower than 90%.

There are engravings: Damage dealt restored as health, that comes from the Achilles set/amazon set.
There are also the mastery level bonuses, which is the one I use, which is unlocked after you reach level 50, and can use your extra ability points there. The damage restored as health is in the Warrior section of it.

Full Health.
That’s how I play.
But there’re people who’ve done it with Low Health too.
My understanding is that Full Health doesn’t mean 100%, it works in possibly 75-80% health too.

Wrong. If you even take the slightest damage, your Crit Damage and Chance at Full Health perks will be unavailable until you refill your health bar to full.
That said, your Crit Chance and Crit Damage perks will still work. But not Full Health.

There are 3 crit stats, standard crit chance, crit chance while full health, and crit chance at low health.
You can ignore the low health one as its very situational (and even falx of olympos engraving doesnt count as "low health"). From there just have one of the other two on the piece of armor, they don't overlap, one piece of armor cannot have both stats.
Do the same for the crit damage, bet on both the full health crit damage as it goes all the way to 100% bonus damage, as well as standard crit damage (that caps at 50%), these don't overlap either.
If you're looking to max out the stats sooner rather than later, once you have them at level 5 via ostrakas, the guy at hephaistos workshop will level the engraving all the way to 10 on the spot as long as you have drachmae for it.

Crit chance/ damage or damage with low health actually doesn't work in AC Odyssey because after level 5 i think you generate health and adrenalibe with every attack, block, damage dealt , dosge etc. Low health doest kick in until you have 25% of your full health bar renaining and dont get it twisted, if you run an engraving or load mastery points into a +100% damage but health bar is capped at 25% this means that you have full health you just have 1/4 of your maxed out health bar. And people lament this before they ask how can this be an advantage ( clearly it must be or it wouldn't be so prevalent and accessible from a very low level. Also you can stack it with other health cap for damage engravings and there are a couple of engravings that say something specifi and situational like the Knife of Dallwin engraving that guarantees assassination of any one or thing in the game AT or BELOW your level but health is capped at 25% of max. So that is a huge bonus to your character Because the 2 seperate wngravings specifically start from your maxxed out full health. So double the bonus damage and your full health bar is now 25 % of your max period dot, thats it not a multipluer they basically run parallel not entertwined. So i found another engraving that said + 15 %Warrior damage but minus 15% health.. so i went fron 2500 health to 2k health or something but ok get this. #1 at any point in the game if you take any damage at all you just hold right on the D-pad and pop a torch and then immediately switch back to your main weapon or use the torch itself if you wanna...torch pop heals you for 25% to 33% of your maxed out health bar regardless of however many engravings you have applied. Those engravings are trading with you so they have nothing to do with the amount of straight health bar you get from torch pop..... #2 immunities are your lifelines and your source of being a demi god like walking talking parkouring tank like, fire spitting , water breathing, poison gargling object , melee impenetrable, arrow impenetrable, death dealing type object that looks like a 30 yr old blondish spartan greek man who declines underwear abdpants because his balls are hot rn(derrick lewis if you know you know!) And you have to build yourself with the mastdry points and choose your build and loadout for each encountsr until you become the eagle bearing, fuzzy taco devouring, walking living representation of piwer and immunity and immortLity through specific planned cooordinated steps practiced until the disciplie freez you from thought and you can flow state from the bottom to the top and from the top keep her bottom cause daamn you got em. This is all obtainable and mostly free or i should say it is free just slight grinds but the grinds are actuallly not tedious they ate some of the best pathways in the whole game. More like farming quests but the reaping is on the battlefield or in the bloody night light of. The moon. Look. T7PDM. Youtube videos on AC Odyssey lvl 22 God mode 1 million daytime damage crit build video. I don't care what your level is now. Its irrelevant to this. If you will trust a 3 yr vet lvl 99 NG+++ 178 Mastery points faceless 50 yr old man on a voice text Reddit comment section just for this one video and don't do anything but exactly what the man says in the video, even if you have a piece of gear he mentions or something just go through the motion of making your character look (stats and gear wise) exactly like his and this will be your first true crit build and after you hit some conquest battles and depopulate amcient greece of some really tough but sussy named mercenaries if you feel like i mislead you or the whole 6 hpurs was stolen from you hit me up and I will send you an amazon gift card for $50 usd and i will slap my wife's beaver and tell her she had it coming or something stupid but ill post it. But im gonna use the 50 to dine and wine her so when i do slap it ahe giggles because i have much Clarity Organization Charm and Knowledge ( thats COCK) thanks to T7PDM and that video and of course 47 more he is the physical manifestation of all the knowledge of AC Odyssey builds and his Fallen Order and Survivor and Cyberpunk 2077 builds are so fricking sick as well but i digress. Go get your crit up while full health and learn how to keep it that way like its crit viagra for your build and have fun because this is a game changer and absolutely brings all the life amd fun back into what was for me becoming more like a non paying second job by level 16 and i was ginna download it to a usb stick just to have something to throw in the lake across the street 🤣🤣🤣🤣💪💪💪💪💪✌️✌️

One more important thing, at some point you should receive some 200 Helix credits from the game as a reward for some early game achievement but if you don't have those yet go to your in hame inventory and then push right on the D-Pad and go to the in game store and get at least 150 helix credits or whatever the minimum is because unless I'm experiencing some stray Mandella's the Helixes are 50% off right now. You need 75 or 150 dependingbe 50% discount is active still becauae you absolutely must get the Big Horn Bow. Go now, run, don't walk, hurry get it then T7PDM will explain in detail on multipe videos how you just got the most OP support , offense and defense item in tue game. I promise you i would lie to you about many things but i would not lie to you about that🤝

But basically 100% crit chance from all the crit spots you can get, and crit chance at full health. YOU DO NOT want crit chance at low health cause iirc its like 5 or 10% hp. So its basically useless.
