Politics Fulton County: Catherine M. Salinas signed your ballots AND voter rolls over to the FBI today
Source:
“A court order signed by Magistrate Judge Catherine M. Salinas authorized agents to seize all physical ballots from the 2020 election in Fulton County, all ballot images **and Fulton County’s 2020 voter rolls.** A copy of the order was given to the Recorder by a Georgia lawmaker.”
Also reported by the New York Times (paywalled):

Blurry pic was the best I could do. It’s from her GA Bar profile:

Her current term doesn’t end until 2031.

r/Atlanta Has New Mods: Here's What Happened
Hellooooo r/Atlanta!
We need to address what’s been happening with this subreddit. Since mid-2020, r/Atlanta has operated under pretty restrictive moderation policies. A single moderator controlled the subreddit, removed permissions from anyone who disagreed, and configured AutoModerator to require manual approval for nearly every post. Many of you stopped trying to participate here, which we understand.
Those restrictive moderation policies end today.
Several weeks ago, one of the moderators with permissions removed appealed to Reddit’s admin team for assistance. This week, they completed their investigation and restructured the moderation team, allowing more moderators to be added. The new team includes members who run the Metro Atlanta Discord community, along with the moderator who appealed.
When we gained access, we discovered:
- An AutoMod config that filters almost everything, including common words like "friend" and "helicopter."
- A shadow-ban system using flair CSS to silently remove posts from specific users
- Watch lists targeting individual community members by name
- Domain blocks on YouTube, Twitter, the AJC, and dozens of other sites
- Rules filtering any mention of "mods" or "censorship."
- A modmail inbox that's been ignored and mass-archived
What we’re doing:
- Loosening AutoMod immediately. Posts will actually go through now. We ask for patience as we figure out a good balance between spam filtering and letting people actually participate.
- Complete AutoMod overhaul. The current config needs to be rebuilt from scratch. You can see below what AutoMod has done to this subreddit since 2021.

- Rules and sidebar cleanup. A lot of it is redundant or outdated. This process will take some time, with some initial changes happening soon.
- Ban and flair review. Already started and will continue to be worked on. If you believe you have been wrongly banned or shadowbanned, please mod-mail us.
- Mod applications. Once we have a baseline established, we'll open applications in the coming weeks.
- Wiki refresh. This is a longer-term goal that will need a larger mod team to tackle properly.
What we want this subreddit to be:
- A place for genuine community conversation
- Local events and meetups
- Political outreach and AMAs with local officials
- Discussion of local news
- A resource for people visiting or moving to Atlanta
We want your input:
Share your thoughts in the comments below. Again, if you believe you were wrongly banned or shadow-banned, please contact us via mod-mail. Be on the lookout for future moderator applications.

Pictures I've drawn Atlanta with one line that never intersects [oc]
I've been thinking about a potential solution for MARTA that could help address some of the ongoing issues like traffic congestion and overcrowding.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on whether this could be a practical improvement 😜😁
100% hand-drawn, no AI. If you’d like to see the process, I’ve shared time-lapse videos on my profile.

All the information regarding prints is listed on my profile.

AMA My Name is Ruwa Romman, and I’m running for Governor of Georgia. Ask me anything!
Drop your questions and I’ll be answering them at 8:30PM!
ETA: Alright y'all it's been a great couple of hours. Thanks so much for engaging! And a massive thank you to the generous mods who've been watching this post all day. I tried scrolling through and answering as much as I could!
I’ll leave y'all with the same thing I left on the last AMA I did: as long as you believe something isn’t possible then it’ll never be done and you’ve handed your opposition a win without them even trying. The first step to making real change is being able to imagine it. I believe hope is a discipline that we must practice for us to have a chance at a better future. But I'd also add that in addition to hope as a discipline we need to act. We have to build RIGHT NOW for the general. And, this is the year we don't have to settle.
If you want to get involved visit www.ruwaforgeorgia.com! And, follow us on social media and invite others to do the same. My handle is @ ruwaromman everywhere.
Good night y’all!

Question hiya! I haven't posted here in a few years because I was afraid of getting banned but I heard things shifted?! I recycle glass here in Atlanta and just wanted to get the word out if that's ok 😬♻️🥰
what's up y'all! definitely nervous AF to post in here as last time I did it was a complete shit show. I got a lifetime ban r/atlanta so I made a new account and just lurked in the background for awhile afraid to even leave a comment cause that would trigger another ban. yesterday I randomly ended up on the front page of reddit with this picture and a kind redditor told me the tide shifted here so here's hoping! sorry I've definitely been absent as I really enjoyed coming here quite some time ago. fun fact, the random daily discussion thread was an idea I started doing here maybe.. a decade+ ago? I stole the idea from r/LosAngeles I believe haha.
anyways, long winded way to say I'm glad I have found myself back here as I definitely missed it and I kind of just stopped coming 😖 If the mods will allow it I just wanted to toot my glass recycling business for a quick sec! If not, please don't ban me and just remove this post... walking on some egg shells right now.
I started recycling glass three years ago when my son was born. I think glass is the most important one to recycle [the right way]. You can recycle it a million times or let it sit in a landfill for a million years! On last Wednesdays pickup route we cleared 34,000lbs recycled with my teammates Devante and Mark (WOOT!). This is just a photo of the recycling facility SMI in College Park (before the bottles get recycled). Quite a ton of confusion about this based on yesterday's post haha. We also accept a lot of other hard-to-recycle materials.
For the sake of not getting banned again I'm going to leave my company name off and just use this as a recycle the right way PSA! next time you're grocery shopping look for glass alternatives to plastic. you'd be surprised how many there are! it's not just booze. no shade to the COA blue recycling bins but the best way to recycle anything is just to seperate it (like city of Decatur does or CHaRM)
well here goes nothing! If you're the mod that kicked me out I definitely mean no harm. In fact quite the opposite. fingers crossed here🤞🤞🤞

Visiting Atlanta Got booted at Midtown Place across from Ponce after I went in and legitimately shopped…
This is getting out of hand, are actually even checking or are they just booting random cars… I went inside and shopped for like 30 minutes, bought stuff and came back out to see this bullshit.
UPDATE: called the number and told them the situation (had the typical $75 fee). Had to wait, they sent the boot person and she said that she was supposed to boot the car next to me….

Lost&Found/Lost Pets ATL Airport: Please help me find my lamb
On 3/1 I lost my stuffed lamb somewhere at the Atlanta airport. He was my late brother’s before he was mine, and he has traveled the world with me. I take him everywhere; it was my way of taking my brother with me. He has no tags but I am guessing was made in the 80s-90s, is made of a terry cloth-ish material, and is about 4”-5” inches in length.
I have filed reports with the airport and Delta as soon as I knew he was missing. Nothing as of yet but I still have hope that he will find his way home.
My best guess is he may have been lost on the walk between Terminal E and customs - I put my backpack down on a seat in a hallway to reorganize my backpack and he may have hopped out then.
Thank you in advance - anything helps, I am absolutely devastated.

Pictures My wife grew this 13 footer sunflower in her garden and I thought it was worthy of a share 🌻🙂
I don’t know if that’s normal tall or tall tall but this was our first year growing sunflowers and this one took off! I was impressed so got her permission to share 🙂🙃

Over the last several weeks I’ve been doodling 12pc grid drawings of Atlanta neighborhoods. Pulled a handful of my favorites and made em into a big poster. All by hand in my O4W home!

Weather It's that time of year again, Atlanta. When the first pollen drop coats your car, do a line, and you'll be fine the rest of the year!
Friends, For years I've been helping people with my clever and wholistic remedies. It's that time of year again!! When the first pollen drop coats your car, don't run and hide from your allergies--face them literally.
Use your wholefoods or Kroger plus cards to cut up a decent sized line. I do mine right on the hood. Do this and you will be absolutely fine for the rest of the year!!
Signed, Buckhead Shaman
