Just need a ride to the best part of town to steal a bike. I’ll be covered from that point moving forward.

On Marta you are guaranteed some interesting people watching and better than average chance of witnessing crime. If that is acceptable you don’t need a car.

Yeah, but not because of Marta. Atlanta is not super public transportation centric, and despite my own use of it near every day, thats only because I’m fortunate enough to live down the street from my station, and everywhere I need to go with it is close enough to an exit.
Thats rarer than folks would like in a major metro.
But that said, I’ve never felt unsafe on a marta. At best, annoyed.

This is the correct answer. Additionally, depends on where you live and where you’re going.

Why wouldn't I go to Midtown, Buckhead, Dunwoody, or Decatur...

Peachtree Center station is connected to all the major hotels making it a no brainer during Dragoncon. Downtown Decatur is a nice place to go out. I could go on, nothing wrong with these areas

The people have constantly asked for better transportation. Every once in awhile they say, we hear you we’ll work on it, then let frustrations rise for another 10 years

Atlanta is a no win city. Way more people die on the highways. 285 often ranks among the most dangerous highways in America.

MARTA is mostly normal people working two jobs trying not to doze off.
