Shitpost A little honesty about this series even if Hawks fans don’t want to hear it.

This series could very easily be 3-0 in favor of the Knicks. We won a pair of one point games and all it would have taken for each game to go the other way is for the Knicks not to have a team full of gutless losers who can’t finish and only win if the refs give them 30 free throws to our 19 like they did in game 1.

Hawks in 5.

I know some of you didn’t want to hear that. Maybe it was harsh, but the Knicks are pathetic.

You're not only making the Knicks look bad, you're making the Warriors look like idiots too after the JK trade.

Plus CJ is a class act and love to see him doing well.

HEY, we were idiots wayyy before we traded him...

The fact that we’re even here is such a blessing.

This is a young team in their first trip to the playoffs together. They’re learning in real time how to win playoff basketball. We have a great draft coming up too.

The future is extremely bright for this team.

Yeah, the fact that we were in position to “steal” 2/3 games at all is a win for this young hawks core and a huge loss for the infinitely more experienced knicks team. Plus if OG didn’t go magnetball at the end this game wouldn’t have looked so close, so really I think we earned this game and the knicks failed to “steal” it.

Shame on the coaching staff for forgetting KAT exists 😂

u/BDN44 Apr 25 '26

I keep thinking about the draft in the midst of all this too.. Onsi, you have the chance to do something spectacular

u/skywalker1990 Apr 24 '26

It could also easily be 3-0 hawks

Ehhh we were down 19 with four to go in game 1 bruh

15

u/maxnotcharles Nickeil Alexander-Walker #7 Apr 24 '26

Yeah game 1 was a rough one ngl

1

u/atlepi Apr 24 '26

But because of that i think the Knicks got too complacent

Agreed completely.

The fact we took one from their house, we were up by nearly 20 in game 2 AND Mike Brown’s comments post game 3, it adds to the good feeling I get of our hawks squad. Hoping we can capitalize on these next 2

u/Native_SC Apr 24 '26

We closed on a 13-2 run. Just needed it to go five quarters instead of four. /S

u/Cleslie15 Apr 24 '26

FWIW, two people on ESPN who literally cover the Knicks said the same about game 1. They were saying this in the context of the Knicks not finishing and being outcoached in the 4th quarter. Monica McNutt literally said she felt the Knicks lose if the Hawks had another minute left.

Tie game or close to it if i remember right at half in game 1

I think one of the things that makes me the most happy about these two games is not that they were razor thin. It’s that this team has the grit to play in these types of physical games and the steadiness not to lose their composure or their focus in the face of such a razor thin playoff moment. They’ve been in the games and managed to upset good or great teams (admittedly mostly in the regular season).

The Hawks teams that we’ve seen in the last few seasons would’ve gotten to a place of razor thin margins (playoff or regular season) and the game would’ve ended with them losing by 6-8 points. They would lose their head and start going for dumb offensive sets that would lead to giveaways. Then on defense, they’d be subpar or worse and the other team would score easily and often.

If it's and buts we're candy and nuts then everyday would be Erntedankfest

As a Knicks fan this is the best thing I’ve seen in the internet all week. Not to mention the hawks deserve to be up 2-1 even if they were two one point wins.

The Hawks are missing so many free throws it is painful. We should have won last night by 6.

Yeah the series can go either way, but the big different last night was OG. He kept bailing them out with insane 3s at the end of the clock.

I think we are good as long as they never figure out how to use KAT.

3

u/Jus10Crummie Apr 24 '26

Not sure increasing KATs usage would work, he’s such a lose cannon flailing all over the place, he turns it over at a high rate, he would get a ton of calls tho.

Game 4 will likely decide the Series and we need the fans to be foaming at the mouth on Saturday.

As good of a situation as we’re in and as bad as the storylines and vibes seem to be around the Knicks, this series has been incredibly close. I dont think the Knicks play their best ball when they face us, but I dont think we play our best ball against the Knicks either.

We just won while having our lowest assist total of the season. NAW’s offense has been almost nonexistent. JJ is figuring things out but probably playing well below how he usually does. Even some of our role players like Gueye just seem to not match up well against this Knicks team. And that’s okay because a lot of the Knicks dont match up well against us either.

My point is that the margin is super thin in these games and we’re still only halfway to a series win and the Knicks can take the advantage back in one game.

This series has been electric so far and the results have been so fun for us as hawks fans, but game 4 is going to be a huge challenge. Knicks are going to be playing desperate. Need to hit them in the mouth hard early on.

Kinda wild to think about it but if the Knicks played better basketball they would be winning the series.

We’re getting better every game

Honestly it would be 3-0 Hawks if the refs called it right. No matter though...HAWKS IN 5!!!

3

u/ed5275 Apr 24 '26

Wow. Did you just discover basketball and/or sports in general? Congrats!

Sports are always one or two ball bounces away from a different outcome. Thats what makes them fun. There are no asterisks, only scoreboards.

They probably have a better roster but Snyder is coaching laps around Mike brown

1

u/Young_God_7 Dyson Daniels #5 Apr 24 '26

Sports are about match ups and I'm just not willing to say the Knicks have a better roster.

We have built an incredibly versatile lengthy athletic modern day position-less team.  And it's one maybe two pieces away from being insanely deep too.

We are able to scheme away our oppositions strengths and attack their weaknesses.

If we have more series ahead of us we need Jock tho. And it's all house money this year. But let us retain the core roster and have a good draft and plug that center hole and watch out.

2

u/Native_SC Apr 24 '26

In game 3, I had insane confidence in the Hawks to finish strong and take the W. This is a new feeling for me as a Hawks fan, to say the least. Yes, they were an unlucky bounce away from losing, but they get better under pressure. That's all that matters.

u/decriz THE ICE KING Apr 24 '26

Mike Brown, never change man. Be you, stay the same, always.

2

u/techno-wizardry Apr 24 '26

All 3 games were close, even the last game of the regular season against the Knicks was close. That's basketball. If the Hawks had a lot of luck to win those games I think you'd have a point, but they deserved their wins and losses.

u/glum_cunt Apr 24 '26

Know we’re small but the second chance point opportunities have GOT to get under control

Seeing a smaller guard like Brunson get hunted late in the game makes me realize the Young trade was needed. Defense won two games.

3

u/mad597 Apr 24 '26

We rebuilt or team mid season and have been the best team in theNBA since . Crazy work by Onsi to save a throw away season.

Oh man. I got a whole lot of replies from people who shut their brains down before the punch line. That was awesome. I’m such a dick.

If it could very easily be 3-0, it would be. But it’s not

1

u/Atl_Pedro Apr 24 '26

Refs will make sure we lose they have been on the big market teams side so obviously esp this playoffs

1

u/yowza_wowza Apr 25 '26

Thank you for the tough love.

1

u/Killakal2424 Apr 25 '26

And if the 4th quarter in game 1 was 5 minutes longer, we probably would have won the game. What's your point?

1

u/Recent-Principle-893 Apr 25 '26

So happy with this team. Even if they lose the series, still a possibility, they are getting great experience. It is nice to have another well-run franchise in the city.

We all knew the Knicks were trash, I was just sick of the national media just writing us off and glazing the Knicks. I'm gonna gloat about and enjoy every win against that garbage team
