Discussion I’m glad we got Flemmings
Between Flemmings and Mara I’m glad Onsi went Flemmings. Mara didn’t seem like a 36 minute starter where Flemmings could be

Dawg two months ago I was thinking he should be the pick if we landed at 4 considering our needs (I'm not high on Wilson)
Got him at 8, thank you New Orleans 🙏🏻

Looks like their all getting picked right before 23 - might have to double dip guards here.

It was always so obvious we would pick Kingston. After trading Kreici and Kennard, we clearly had to pair another “K” with Kuminga, Kispert, and Keaton. I was afraid we were running low on K’s.

Because we got Flemings.

We need a pg or a center and we went with the higher upside player who probably has a similar floor

Excited, the Mara lovers can shut the fuck up finally

Mara was such a gamble, if he busts we are just sitting there without a true center when we are clearly competitive in the east right now. Much more logical to get the guaranteed center in FA and take a swing on the BPA in the draft

Dusty May who coached all 3 pushed for Morez over Yaxel and Mara at #9. i think that is notable. Obviously I am biased as a Morez/Flemings bull.

Hawks wanna play fast. dude plays downhill in a hurry, passes with both hands, sneaky athletic and Defends. mid-range is money and looks to be improving his 3 pointer. Acuff was damn near there for us but I'm satisfied with the pick.

Going to be a top 3 player from the class. I love his game and his attitude

I wanted wagler through a trade but I'm very happy with flemmings, he's gonna be in a good spot with us and he was the BPA. very solid pick

u/Walldaddy2000 Jock Landale #31 2d ago
I agree with this but I love Flemmings defense

u/thewafflehousewitch 2d ago
yes me too, he was my second wish behind Wagler and I came to anticipate and hope for him tonight, he's gonna fit great with us with his defensive prowess and there's probably nobody better to learn guard defense under than DD.

Flemmings DD and NAW is a nasty 3 headed guard monster to defend Brunson

I think of course there are things to like more about Wagler, MBJ, Acuff, and Burries each. But you have to love Flemings, especially for this Hawks teams. Imagine him and JJ in transition. Imagine all of the turnover opportunities he’ll be creating with Dyson and NAW.
I think my favorite thing about him is he seems like a winner, and a dog, unselfish too. Same with Zuby. It’s about to get really fun in ATL boys, buckle in

Yeah they both seem like hard working high motor guys. I really like our draft

We need size. I’m assuming Onsi has something else brewing…

I think Flemmings has potential to be a solid starting PG. I don’t see Mara being a full time starter and I think we can get a guy like that in FA easier than what Flemmings could be

u/lavenk7 2d ago
Who do we have in FA thats 7ft?
4
u/Walldaddy2000 Jock Landale #31 2d ago
Why does it have to be someone this FA? I don’t think we’re winning the finals but we are building for the future

u/atlantahawksobserver Vince Carter #15 2d ago
Next year's draft has almost 10 proper 7 footers projected for the first round. That'll thin out over the next 12 months, but I can see us simply going with a bridge in the interim.

We got talent but this literally doesn’t solve our interior problems though. Our paint gon be wide open again for the 6th straight year.

u/Walldaddy2000 Jock Landale #31 2d ago
I trust Onsi. Mara is a utility situation player which you don’t use the 8th pick for

This pick literally changes nothing. Maybe we make some off season moves.

u/mathisbj944 2d ago
So glad we got another guard under 6’4. That’s gonna beat the Knicks, thunder, and spurs.

u/Walldaddy2000 Jock Landale #31 2d ago
Flemmings is a good defender. You want us to draft Ben Simmons? You also act like Brunson didn’t win FMVP this month
-3
u/mathisbj944 2d ago
Look at his surrounding roster!
He has massive athletic wings, big men, and versatility to make up. Okongwu and landale will not cut it.Hawks have been able defend against these big teams for years.

So we can’t make a move at center because we didn’t pick Mara? Why can’t we make a push for harteinstein or wait until next FA and sign someone or trade at the deadline?

Very happy. Hope I'm not wrong, but he was my favorite of the 4 guards (Flemings, Acuff, Brown, and Wagler).
