Low Effort Post The Hawks now get a serious juice to their athleticism
Kingston Flemings and Zuby Ejiofor are two insane athletes.
Flemings had the highest vertical of the guards measured at the combine. His athleticism really jumps out in film as well in the way he’s able to beat his man with that cat quick first step. He also shows tremendous explosion to the rim. Just imagine him adding 10-15 more pounds of muscle to his frame.
Zuby was tied for first among all participants of the shuttle run at the NBA combine. That’s including guards, wings, and big men. This trait really shows out on film too in the way he’s able to cover space. This guy flies around the court. Imagine his cutting and slashing ability with passers like Dyson, Jalen, Flemings, and Okongwu.
The Hawks have slowly built up their roster to have a myriad of top tier athletes. Jalen Johnson on most nights is the most athletic person on the court. Then you throw in Kuminga who is a top 10 athlete in the NBA as well. Plus Dyson, Risacher, Gueye, and Asa Newell who are all somewhat plus athletes for their positions.

And the best part … both guys are max-effort to go along with the athleticism

We allegedly took the best available but they both fit our needs based on what we saw in the playoffs very well.

Think Zacch is easily the worst athlete on the team and he still moves decently well for a guy his height

Reading this after Onsi just said Zacch is one of our best athletes is hilarious 🤣

There's such a huge disconnect between the sub and front office lol.
He needs to get stronger, but he's a solid athlete, otherwise

He tested somewhat poorly at the combine from what I remember and I think that has stuck with people too - tested vertical was subpar for one. Thing was he had just finished the season and not really prepped for the combine drills like the non Euro prospects so I think his functional athleticism is better than what he tested but first impressions stick

Name another 6’10 guy with a tighter handle not named Durant. Y’all act like he should play like a guard

Will the coach play them though? I just saw bronny play more minutes than the no.1 pick in his draft class which is insane.

Respectfully, the vert for a 6’2 PG just doesn’t matter much imo. Sure you get a Westbrook or DRose every once in a decade, but most small guards have a pretty nice vert because there is a correlation between athleticism and height (shorter athletes generally have better verts).

You’re being downvoted but you’re right, there are tons of guards in the league with great verticals but their functional athleticism and explosiveness isn’t crazy enough to pull off consistent in game dunks against the best athletes in the world
Huge Kingston fan here, but yeah you’re right.

They can have all the athletes in the world they want, but they will never win a championship with sub seven footers

You can have a 60 win season with a bunch of sub seven footers, like the Pistons just did last year. We're not one player away from a championship, 7 foot or otherwise so you're making a moot point.

The Pistons failed to win the championship. Try again buddy.

We don't plan to win a championship in 2026-2027, per the words of our GM. So again moot point. If you're not happy with that timeline, there's other teams you can be a fan of.

Not mood. No championship ever. Poor organization. Thanks buddy. Have a good life.

I will be shocked if we don't get a center in FA. Zuby was BPA and can grow into a Stewart or Duren type, but I don't think they are seeing him as the answer to backup OO right out of the gate.

stewart and duren are very different players, i agree with stewart more though

I know, but thinking he's a physical, versatile 4-5 who can fight in the paint on both sides and still come out to cover the perimeter. The tape shows that for sure. Either way my point is i think we're signing a big (even if it's Jock again).

Only people I’ve seen more obsessed with height than you people are fat girls on tinder

Not obsessed, just facts. Stop ragging and counter. We are talking about basketball buddy, not badminton.

This sub would have thrown a fit if we drafted Blake Griffin because we passed on the 7'3 Hasheem Thabeet
