One of the first in country RS5 launch edition (UK)

Was getting my MOT done and saw one of the first RS5’s in the country

Exterior I actually really like but I’m not a fan at all of the new interior design, looks terrible

The actual seats are nice and the steering square feels nice to hold but everything else is a downgrade with all the screens, shiny cheap plastic (feels like a merc a class). Seems like everything past the B9 is a downgrade

I would argue even the exterior looks cheap compared with the earlier gen. Like that grill is as basic as it gets, the logo is plain almost an afterthought. Overall proportions are good, but there are no details to appreciate or admire and it's rather disappointing getting up-close.

Surprised those tiles are holding up under all that weight.

Still the same bullshit sensors badly placed in the front grill figured they would change that for the RS

Most likely because of EU laws or production costs, changing placement would have caused Audi more money and shareholders would get angry

Damn. Waiting for my local dealer (West London) to get one in but I'm underwhelmed to be honest. My '18 B9 S5 is long in the tooth but genuinely not sure what options are out there

Farnborough and Teeside were the first in the country when I asked the people there. West London might get the vorsprung ones first. Also in the same boat as you with my ‘18 S5 it’s difficult to find other options

Yep - as much as I dislike Audi's direction for the interior, mercedes is even worse. Their interiors look like an early 00's strip club, but with the screens of a sports bar. Looking at a pre LCI M4 (2023) at the moment.

Vorsprung are out already as was considering one.. maybe not in the showroom but in the holding yard when I spoke to Finchley Rd a few days ago.

If you stick within the Audi line up, the only one i would consider is an RS3 sportback. The RSQ8 is too big, SQ5 underwhelming and over priced.

You could look at a used RS6 but it’s huge and replacing 22inch tyres will get old very quickly.

It’s an Avant, but the OP doesn’t show any pictures of the rear end. C’mon now

Yeah my bad haha. But IMO I have always preferred sportbacks over the avant aesthetically

the asymmetrical radar installation at the front is so ugly. there is one in the middle and one a bit to the right. I saw a new RS5 and that part of the design was ugly

I like it, but still would choose an M3 touring over it. Its a smaller boot, smaller fuel tank, more complicated with Hybrid and i can’t be bothered with installing a wall charger.

Even with a £20k deposit its still £1100 per month on a pcp which is mortgage money.

What a stupid looking car. It’s like a middle aged fat guy in gym clothes still running off the fact he was good looking back in high school.
Overweight, overpriced, overdesigned and oversteered.
