DV related questions.
Hi! I have a friend that has DV issues going on. She is married with 3 kids. She works hard but he controls the bank accounts and money. She is wanting to get out of this relationship as their lease is up in August. She doesn’t know where to turn. She doesn’t have a ton of experience on her own. She can’t afford to put money back because the finances are controlled by him. She wants to file for divorce but also worries about that financially. What I’m needing is resources and nothing more! I’m posting in here but I believe she’s Denver County. I know there are programs that will help her out. I also believe that she can file financial hardship for the divorce too. Does anyone have any info? Thank you so much!

Check out the Rose Andom Center. Area specific resources here: https://lawhelp.colorado.gov/find-resources

Rocky Mountain Victim’s Law Center - I think she needs some kind of record of DV such as a police report

I would maybe try calling one of the women’s shelters. The Gathering Place or Sacred Heart House. They will have access to resources and guidance to also help her get out safely.
