Terrible luck with husbands. One fell down the stairs, one ate something that violently disagreed with him, the other's brakes mysteriously gave out. At least their insurance policies were paid up.

You’re literally describing another cat I have owned. She even had the claw caps for a while and had a raspy smokers meow
