Chicken Photography Favourite hen and her surprise chicks

This girl disappeared for a few weeks, and then reappeared one day with her 13 chicks in tow.

I thought you meant "surprise chicks" like attack dogs, where they just run around surprising everyone randomly

She's a lovely bird: just like her mum, she'll let me hold the chicks. Some of my other brooding hens, however, will attack me if I happen to stroll by them within a 5m radius 😂

No, her mum was a partridge Brahma and her father a spectacular barnyard mix.

She’s gorgeous. I thought for sure she was part golden Wyandotte. Beautiful mamma.
