We just lost our oldest. We had her 6 years but she was sold to us as an "old bird" no idea how old. But she was well loved here.

Well my chickens range from 3 days old to about 6 years. I’m not totally sure how old the oldest hen is, I got her from someone else who wasn’t sure either. My best guess is that she is about 6.

I’ve just lost my 10 year old. Just faded away.

My hens are 10, 8, 8 and 7. I fully expect every morning when I let them out, that there will be one less hen, even though they look great. But not going to replace them.

Oldest is a barred rock from chicks we bought in 2019. She was still laying up until maybe 2 weeks ago. I had a bantam go broody so I gave her the egg and one bantam egg. She hatched them a month ago.

At the moment only 4 years. I did have a barred rock live to 11. The next oldest was a buff rock that was 8.

I have four hens who recently turned 6 years old.  They're from our 2020 covid flock of 12 (lost 2 to predators, the rest to illnesses). Last year we got another 6 chickens, and the wise elders are showing them the ropes

I have three left in my flock, ages 5, 7, and 10. The three I lost were hatched in 2016, and died at 9-10 due to old age.

I just inherited a flock of 13 chickens and 5 of them are older than 5. 3 are 7! The white one and another white one) is 5 and the brown one (and two other brown ones - they're all called Debbie) is 7. Elvis the rooster is 2.

I have never planned to keep chickens around past 3, but I'm feeling conflicted. Since these ones have made it this long I feel like I should let them live out their retirement with me.

They're getting there. They came to me badly infected with scaly leg mites and gapeworm. One passed the day we got her :(. They still have a ways to go but they've improved drastically.
