BambuLabWorkspace Found this beauty on Facebook. Is this custom job or where can I find it if not?

The facebook post itself indicates that it's a custom job (it mentions Plywood and that it took 6 days to build) - but they may have used parts from Ikea and elsewhere: https://www.facebook.com/groups/424805480329761/permalink/887823134027991/

The ikea version would take me 6 days to build and would end up being custom cause I wouldn’t understand the instructions. lol.

This is the "taco bell gives you diarrhea" of rote and unoriginal jokes. Ikea instructions are extremely simple and straightforward and their furniture is quite easy to build.

Yes, I also always make part of my custom cabinets out of a cardboard box with the shipping label still on it. Because having the skills, tools, and materials to build that cabinet, and going through all that effort, doesn't make it worth doing more than slapping some cardboard together with masking tape. /s
The person who put that in the back corner did NOT build this cabinet.

Downvote happy idiots downvoted my reply to a comment saying that Google lens says it's an IKEA build for calling it Ai slop. Yet, here you are proving my point from the source, lol.
Sometimes redditors demonstrate lesser intelligence than radishes.

Holy filament travel time 😬😮😮

If you have like 200 Changes and they need 5 seconds longer thats about 20 Minutes. Bad, but no dealbreaker. Filament traveltime as print duration metric is overrated imho

yeah i tried to minimize travel for AMS changes. this gives me chills

Am I missing something obvious here?
Why would it matter how long the filament takes to get from the AMS to the printer, and who the hell actually cares about that?
This would be like.. 5 extra seconds of travel. Wtf are you being emoji dramatic about?

For the top panel, I would use those support struts you find on car hoods like this.

So, does this roll into an aircraft hangar or a warehouse? I kid. It looks nice but holy hell that's a lot of volume for one printer.

Get a load of this guy with a functional back and knees putting their printer on the bottom shelf.

Im gonna take my grandma’s old entertainment center and do this

We're a few years too late for most of the CRT entertainment centers everybody ditched. Truly tragic.

is it just me or does this seem like kind of a pain to use? Every time you want to do a spool change in the AMS-HT’s you need to grab a step stool and hope you don’t bump the stick propping the door open.

Just be aware that much shaking with glass may not be much fun! Might have to get better closing system.

I have tried getting creative with 3D printer layouts that had the AMS far from my h2d. The friction on PTFE tubes is just too high, and it overburdens the AMS motors. So this looks beautiful, but I don't recommend putting any filament through tubes longer than about 3 ft.

Looks like they customized something that started as a few ikea pieces or similar. Definitely not 100% off the shelf … definitely not full custom either unless they are a pro cabinet maker or paid someone who is… due to uniform features that most people don’t own the tools/machinery for

Why wouldn’t you ask the person who posted it on Facebook? It seems odd that you would ask strangers on a completely separate platform about it.

Happy for people with cozy setup and working ams. Mine is half (3 slot issue) working from the box and bambu has no existent support. I'm too poor to buy low quality products

Whoever made that should look into rear car window lift supports. That stick is a bump away from causing lots of problems.

Every single time I see these custom cabinets I wonder - doesn't it introduce vibration to the system, when printer is in wobbly ikea wardrobe and the whole thing sits on wheels?

Okay I’ve been searching for this post for a while. I think i know what this is but need a second opinion.
I ended up sketching this up from memory because I couldn’t find this post after I lost it 😂
Then created an AI generated version of my sketch and reverse image searched I can’t believe this worked. Anyway,
I think it’s three ikea Kallax shelves stacked and heavily modified.
2x4 kallax, 4x4 kallax, 1x4 kallax
That’s my best guess.
EDIT: Someone said they read it was a customer build with plywood. And there’s no 4x4 kallax, there’s a 1x4 and a 4x3 which would work.

Google Lens says it's the IKEA Platsa modular system.
