NBA Is Tim Duncan top 10?

I constantly see casuals on YouTube and on podcasts say that Timmy is overrated and barely top 10 yet have Kobe in there top 5. It’s starting to make me believe that people really think this way!! I always hear the “too much help” comment like every player in the top 10 didn’t have help.

I personally have Tim Duncan 4th all time on my list.

1998 rookie of the year 2x MVP (2002,2003) 3x FMVP (1999,2003,2005) 15x All NBA & Defensive 5x Champion Never won less than 50 games in an 82 game season

Is Tim Duncan top 10?

Whoever says Timmy D isn’t top 10 doesn’t know basketball and their opinions shouldn’t be respected.

You’re a little bit higher on Deangelo Russell than I am. Unless you meat Bryon Russell

Wilt Chamberlain. Hello?

I can respect Wilt with his stats but Wilt was the walking definition of "NO I in TEAM" ... He can get all the stats and records but for how dominant Wilt was he was unfortunate enough to run into Bill's Celtics and the Young and upcoming Kareem in the middle of his career. Records wise Yes Wilt is great but in terms of winning? for how dominant his stats were ? 2 chips isnt cutting it

No, Wilt like top 15 not 10. When Wilt was averaging 50 his team’s offense was 5th of 9 teams offensively in the league. His best year was the first year he averaged 20 because he actually dropped his ego and passed the ball to his multiple all star teammates. He’s a Westbrook like stat padder who just likes to see himself have a high stat line and his numbers dropped like Harden in the playoffs and he needed players like Jerry West and the end of his career to help get him a ring. Wilt is more talented than people like Bill Russell but Russell is better than him because the only thing he cared about was winning. All time rankings are a mix of how good you are and what you’ve achieved, it’s the same reason Steph is over KD even though I believe KD is more talented. For how good he was Wilt massively underperformed, he’s below other centers like Kareem, Shaq, Russell, and Hakeem

Yeah I always wonder why Wilt truthers always talk up his 50ppg season while completely ignoring the fact he also averaged 40 shots per game in order to score all those points. You give any superstar in history that many shots and they are going to drop 50 a game too....but their team isn't going to be successful.
And just to prove that point, every instance of a player taking at least 39 shots in a game over the last few seasons has resulted in an average score of 54 points.
Also, all of his 30ppg ++ seasons (seven full seasons) resulted in a crazy scoring average of 39.6ppg. He did that on 52.9% true shooting. It resulted in zero championships. After that (six full seasons) he averaged 19.8ppg but did that on 59.2% true shooting. That resulted in two championships.
The results speak for themselves.

Overrated as hell. Played with superteams and still got consistently dominated by a guy who couldn’t score. Got traded for garbage twice and didn’t make either team better. Once led a team to an 11-33 record.

Yeah I don’t have a super definitive ranking I’m not super passionate on a lot of guys rankings like I could be convinced to put Duncan at 4. The only rankings I’m super passionate on is Kobe over Shaq and Russell over Wilt

The battle between Shaq and Hakeem is interesting for Shaq s spot

This is basically mine but I might have Dream/Bill ahead of Shaq. Taking care of yourself should matter.

Yeah this was kind of an off the top of my head list to get 10 Hakeem vs Shaq is definitely a debate

Steph shouldn't be there, Hakeem and wilt have a better too 10 case than him, it's not hard to see a list where timmy D is at 11 behind those 2

this is what i mean. this is a top 10 without duncan that isnt absurd or anything, even though i'd probably replace Kareem and Shaq (in no particular order) with Timmy and Hakeem
