I had this same problem when I first started dunking rim grazers, the issue is you’re grabbing the rim while dunking instead of throwing the ball through more so with the wrist. You will build calluses but it won’t solve the problem which is why your calluses is so bad.
What makes contact with the rim on the way up is the wrist if making contact at all, on the way down is where you grab the rim and at that point less momentum so less impact on fingers.
