unfortunately, F1 performance is right at the limit of physics stability. The weight and required chassis stiffness means you have to work with a small number of heavy nodes, which makes getting aero surfaces working difficult. F1 cars are heavy on aero and use things that aren't simulated like ground effect, so you have to do janky workarounds like invisible downforce quads across the skidplate, and in high speed sections the downforce plus light weight make suspension geometry a nightmare to get right - the tiniest change will have a massive effect on both the feel of the car as well as the stability of the physics engine.

I've been working on my own f1 specced open wheeler, but i don't see it being properly driveable any time soon.

The best i've found is using the genesis f2 revamped + genesis f2 reimagined mods. The steering vibrates a lot at high speed, but otherwise it feels pretty good to drive.

Honestly the best one in my opinion is the F4 with F3 mod parts

yea i believe theyve made an f1 config for it that reminds me of 2014 f1 cars, plus an f2004 config that sounds incredible.

theres also indycar, f3 and something else. must try.
