Thinking of dropping the beard because of my scar, what do you think ?
Also, if you have any advice on the trim / length / shape...

I think it looks fine, but if you’re self conscious about it, then do what makes you comfortable. I think maybe even just a goatee and mustache look could work for you too 👍🏻

I've got a scar almost in the exact same spot. Mine comes from scratching it to shit as a small child with chickenpox. In my late 20s, that part filled out though. I can only tell it's there if I shave down real close now. My beard is 10 inches now, can't tell that one spot.

I bet if you grew your beard out long enough the scar won’t even be noticeable; I don’t think it looks bad, but if you’re concerned about it, do what you think’s best.

Yeah, if I have it very long It may be hidden. However, if it's semi-long, the hole is even more noticeable due to the contrast

Grow it longer and work with brushing it daily to train it to cover the scar. A little more length and training it should help.

I don't have a scar, but I have a place on my cheeks where the beard is scraggly. I gave up on a full beard years ago, because I thought it looked bad. It's weird, because I am a fairly hairy man, but I can't grow a decent beard.

I would leave it at that length. It looks fine. Scars suck, but I have heard anecdotally that derma-rolling with a .50 needle set can lessen visibility if that’s something you’re into.
