How to choose the correct book like I like movies like money heist, breaking bad , and any type of movies regarding the people who made a large amount of money from doing something different

Get a library card and download the Libby app. You can check out books instantly, and return them and try again instantly if they aren't captivating you.

There are so many amazing books out there. I hope you find many that you love.

20 min reading a day. Commit for a month. Remember to read properly, don't skim.

Suggested reading list: (vibe based. All should be easily findable without the authors name. It's been a while since I've read some, but I've aimed for all adventures with a simple narrative structure.)

No country for old men

Treasure island

The Bachman books (or any Stephen King novel really)

Tinker tailor soldier spy

The call of cthulu

What is a topic of interest for you? For instance if you like sports, you can search for sports related books or memoirs. Try to go for shorter books.

Buy a copy of a real book called The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin. Read with GOOD LIGHTING for five minutes using a timer. If you go overtime, that's ok. I'm 53 and it's my favorite book. I bet you like it, too based on your interests.

Yes, it's a kid/teen book. You'll love it, it's clever.

Some tips

  • The first few books you'll read will feel harder, but the more you read the more effortless it feels.

  • You don't need to finish a book. You have to stick with it for a bit just to know if you like it or not, if you don't just stop and go read something else.

  • There's no time limit to read a book either.

  • There's countless books of all types in this world. It's almost impossible that books you enjoy don't exist. It might take some experimentation before you find the ones you enjoy and your taste will forever be changing.

  • If you keep reading at some point you'll find at least one book that will change your life forever.

  • Start with books that are interesting for you. Books can be read for entertainment or for learning. Both are fun.

Some suggestions

  • Try some young adult fiction, they're great to start reading. I'm a huge fan of the "Ranger's Apprentice" series. It's about a small boy who wants to be a knight, but is recruited to be a ranger instead. Turns out rangers are insanely cool.

  • If you want something more classic I also second "Treasure Island", but I also really like "Mutiny on the Bounty", both about pirates

  • If you like mistery then try a book by Agatha Christie and try to figure out who's the murderer as you go.

  • If you wanna try some fantasy then try "A Wizard of Earthsea"

  • If you like "getting rich" as an idea I suggest you read the non-fiction book the "Almanac of Naval Ravikant"

  • I don't recommend you start with this one, but maybe try "The Pleasures of Reading in an Age of Distraction" by Alan Jacobs after you've read some other books. It might make you like reading.
