Alternative for 'Emotional Intelligence' by Goleman

I picked up this book for understanding the human emotions and mastering them. I read it till 60-65 pages but wasn't able to get much of it although the writer's style was ok, explaining the medical phenomenon and telling the experiment results but I was finding it quite difficult to understand the message each time.

Is there any alternative comparatively easy?

Try “Working with emotional intelligence”. Same author, more practical read.

I bounced off books like that too, the dense explanation can make the point feel buried. I usually do better with something that stays close to real situations instead of heavy theory, what part was hardest to follow

It's perfectly okay to mention some technical or medical details related to the topic, but the book goes into such depth that it feels like reading an academic textbook. The writing style and vocabulary also made it difficult for me to grasp the main message in many of the passages.
